The Root of Happiness Acts 26:2 By: Frederick L. Langit Introduction: The Bible says in Prov.23:7 “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he”. Happiness is really a state of mind and stems into a right thinking. A discipline and a dedicated mind is always positive, powerful and profitable. For Apostle Paul who labored more than all has the following view of real happiness: 1. Submission to the Word of God. In Acts 24:14 Paul said he believed all things which what was written in the law and in the prophets. This refers to the Old Testament, the scriptures they have during their time. He submitted to the word of God. 2. Sense the Will of God. V2. Through King Agrippa, Paul could now defend himself from false accusation. Because of this, he sensed that this was the will of God for him to share his testimony and the gospel of Christ. In any situation, be it difficult or not, we ought to share the gospel as far as we can. 3. Suffering to the Work of God. 1 Peter 3:14. “But if suffer for righteousness sake, happy are ye; and be not afraid of their terror, neither be troubled”. 4. Secure in the Welfare of God. Deut. 32:9. For Apostle Paul, he believed in God’s Provision. His security comes from the Lord. He believed and lived by it. 5. Standing in the Wisdom of God. Prov.3:3; 1 Kings 3:8; v.19. Paul was not disobedient to the heavenly vision. His power was not with wisdom of men but of power from above. He stands because God gave Him the wisdom to face governor and even the king. Conclusion: May we truly be like an Apostle Paul who always thought of being happy. Surely, your happy attitude will be a blessing to others.
