During this conference some of the best thinkers, scientists and writers in India will talk of issues about the food we eat today –and in what ways they are healthy or unhealthy. Our foods have changed greatly during the last 30 years, and have the potential of dramatically increasing the incidence of heart diseases, cancers, diabetes, obesity etc in the future – which has already happened in the U.S. and in some western countries. Food also is responsible for over 30% of carbon emissions. Along with the slow poisoning through foods, our land and water is also suffering slow-poisoning through chemical agriculture. A major awakening we need is that what is good for the earth, and good for mitigating climate change is also good for our bodies.
