ROBERT BAUVAL is a Civil Engineer by profession, who dedicated over 20 years to the study of the architectural wonders of Ancient Egypt. He is well known for the ORION CORRELATION THEORY (OCT), which he co-authored with Adrian Gilbert and published in 1994 under the book title THE ORION MYSTERY. This proposes a relationship between the Egyptian pyramids of the Giza Plateau and the alignment of stars forming what is called the Belt in the constellation of Orion. The controversy behind this theory is that the pyramids are aligned to Orion’s Belt the way it looked 12,500 years ago, based on modern astronomy calculations. The OCT has now been accepted as one of the preferred alignment theories by many scientific bodies worldwide who have noted the astronomical evidence at hand. The theory was also used in the Hollywood blockbuster “10,000 B.C.” in relation to beginning of the construction of Robert Bauval the Giza structures. Robert Bauval has since become an authority in Egyptian cosmogony and has made further discoveries on the celestial alignment of other structures throughout Egypt, some of which were published in SECRET CHAMBER (1999) and in his 2006 release THE EGYPT CODE, thus revolutionising the traditional Egyptology approach to architecture, design and alignment of the constructions of the Ancient Egyptians. He has also co-authored with Graham Hancock the books KEEPER OF GENESIS (also known as MESSAGE OF THE SPHINX) in 1996 and TALISMAN: SACRED CITIES, SECRET FAITH (2004). TOPIC THE MYSTERY OF THE SPHINX AND OTHER MEGALITHIC STRUCTURES HOW OLD ARE THEY? THE GEOLOGICAL EVIDENCE OF EXTREME ANTIQUITY BIOGRAPHY DR. ROBERT M. SCHOCH, a full-time faculty member at the COLLEGE OF GENERAL STUDIES at BOSTON UNIVERSITY since 1984, earned his Ph.D. in geology and geophysics at YALE

UNIVERSITY. He also holds degrees in anthropology (B.A) and geology (B.S.) from GEORGE WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY. Dr. Schoch has been quoted extensively in the media for his pioneering research recasting the date of the Great Sphinx of Egypt using geological analysis, as well as for his work on ancient cultures and monuments in such diverse countries as Peru, Bosnia, Egypt, and Japan. Dr. Schoch’s research has been instrumental in spurring renewed attention to the interrelationships between geological and astronomical phenomena, natural catastrophes, and the early history of civilization. Dr Robert M. Schoch Dr. Schoch has appeared on many radio and television shows and is featured in the documentary THE MYSTERY OF THE SPHINX. He has also been invited repeatedly to speak at CPAK, the prestigious CONFERENCE ON PRECESSION AND ANCIENT KNOWLEDGE. Dr. Schoch is the author or coauthor of both technical and popular books, including the trilogy with R. A. McNally: VOICES OF THE ROCKS: A SCIENTIST LOOKS AT CATASTROPHES AND ANCIENT CIVILIZATIONS (1999), VOYAGES OF THE PYRAMID BUILDERS: THE TRUE ORIGINS OF THE PYRAMIDS FROM LOST EGYPT TO ANCIENT AMERICA (2003), and PYRAMID QUEST: SECRETS OF THE GREAT PYRAMID AND THE DAWN OF CIVILIZATION (2005). Dr. Schoch’s most recent book publication is THE PARAPSYCHOLOGY REVOLUTION: A CONCISE ANTHOLOGY OF PARANORMAL AND PSYCHICAL RESEARCH (compilation, and a hundred pages of commentary, by Robert M. Schoch and Logan Yonavjak; 2008). His books have been translated into numerous languages and distributed around the world. He is also the co-author of an environmental science textbook used in universities across the United States. He has contributed to numerous magazines, journals, and reviews on geology and Website: http://www.robertschoch.com ancient civilizations. TOPIC THE LOST KINGDOM OF YAM AND THE EGYPTIAN SAHARA MYSTERIES (WORLD PREMIERE) BIOGRAPHY

Born on October the 23rd, 1974 and a graduate of the AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF CAIRO, MAHMOUD MARAI, is a former Chemistry professor who is now a dedicated DESERT EXPLORER. He is the co-discoverer of the “YAM INSCRIPTIONS” who have led to the historical theory of the LOST KINGDOM OF YAM. Since 1998 Mahmoud Marai has travelled and explored extensively the Great Saharan Desert and in particular the Libyan Desert, also known as the Western Desert of Egypt, an extremely perilous geographic zone where very few human beings dwell. He has 42 published articles about his exploits in the deserts of Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Niger, Algeria and Jordan. In 2004 he finally decided to give up teaching entirely for his passion for the desert and for exploration. He began organising, leading and professionally guiding expeditions to the Libyan Desert. In the course of the past four years he has lead several prominent and Mahmoud Marai record-breaking expeditions covering large areas in remote deserts and often accompanied by renowned professionals such as the German explorer Carlo Bergmann and the Swiss photographer Mr. Hardy Boeckli. In 2003, Mahmoud Marai and friends discovered “NOUR’S CAVE” or better now known as the “HASSANIEN CAVE” high in altitude, 1234m, in the majestic Mountain of Uwienat. This was to be the first pre historic rock art cave to be discovered at such elevated altitude and this opened the gate for others to explore and discover more sites in the high altitudes of the Uwienat. In March 2007, Hardy Boeckli and Mahmoud Marai accompanied by Hassan, a Chadian companion, climbed to the summit of the Uwienat Mountain and in the process Boeckli found a series of new, previously undiscovered sites at an altitude of about 1450m. This lead to the proposal of the “VERTICAL TRANSHUMANCE THEORY” of the Uwienat Mountains. In November 2007, Mark Borda and Mahmoud Marai made the most

sensational discovery in the Western Desert of Egypt. They discovered the “YAM INSCRIPTIONS” 700km West of Abu Simbel. The discovery is composed of hieroglyphic inscriptions dating from Middle Kingdom that mention the mythical “KINGDOM OF YAM”, a Cartouche of a Pharaoh and a picture of a seated King. This discovery may force to rewrite the early phase of Pharaonic history by proving that the ancient Egyptians travelled much further than previously thought and also, more importantly, may convey that the Ancient Egyptians were aware of their ancestral origins from the Sahara. The controversy around this discovery is the extreme remoteness of its location and unlocks a series of questions as to how the Ancient Egyptians might have reached these parts of the continent. With regards to the LOST KINGDOM OF YAM, the mystery that revolves around it is its yet unchartered location. Recent findings may provide certain clues to the enigma. TOPIC THE ORIGIN MAP – THE KNOWLEDGE OF ASTROPHYSICS IN HUMAN PREHISTORY BIOGRAPHY THOMAS BROPHY has a Ph.D. from the UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO and was a staff research scientist at the LABORATORY FOR ATMOSPHERIC AND SPACE PHYSICS OF BOULDER. He also worked with NASA on interplanetary spacecraft projects and was a NATIONAL SCIENCE FOUNDATION exchange scientist with the UNIVERSITY OF TOKYO for the JAPAN SPACE PROGRAM. His work focused on the application of first principles of physics in planetary astrophysics, developing novel solution methods for the Boltzmann equation. As a member of one of NASA’s Voyager II spacecraft instrument teams, he developed theoretical understandings for data from the outer planets (Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune), especially planetary rings and planetary dynamics. He was also involved in defining science goals for future space mission instrumentation. He devised a novel method of testing fundamental theories of planet

Dr Thomas Brophy formation by searching for extrasolar debris, which was reported by NATURE magazine. Those interests in general fundamental theory, and experience teaching at the University level, led Dr. Brophy to broader studies involving the non-calculable and immeasurable aspects of the universe, and Integral philosophy. These Integral studies, together with formal practice of contemplative traditions, led to his book THE MECHANISM DEMANDS A MYSTICISM and subsequent publications at kenwilber.com. He also authored presentations on Integral theory and psychospiritual growth. He is the former DEAN OF THE CALIFORNIA INSTITUTE FOR HUMAN SCIENCE, a graduate school and research center dedicated to integrating the pyschospiritual and scientific worldviews. Recombining Integral philosophy with astrophysical dynamics conducted him to his studies of the astro-archaeology of pre-historic and proto-historic Egypt. These studies have led to work on the origin and calibration of the Zodiac, and intriguing evidence for the importance of “ZODIAC AGES” in the mind of early human cultures. Some of this is contained in his book THE ORIGIN MAP. He has also worked in the IT/ telecommunications industry, and found application for fundamental dynamics calculation techniques in gaming and investment theory. He now teaches Integral philosophy, physics, and archaeoastronomy as well as being the proprietor of an investment and IT consulting business. He has published peer reviewed scientific articles in premier journals including ICARUS, MEDITERRANEAN JOURNAL OF ARCHAEOLOGY AND ARCHAEOMETRY, IEEE JOURNAL, SCIENCE. Dr Brophy has been a featured presenter at numerous scientific conferences in the United States, Europe, Japan and New Zealand. He will be presenting about recent developments in the astroarchaeology of PRE-DYNASTIC EGYPT, including newly found evidences of astronomy and astro-ceremonial

complexes in the Egyptian “western desert” (Eastern Sahara). Regarding this he has acquired the cooperation of international satellite remote sensing, and is co-authoring a forthcoming book. TOPIC HUMAN BEINGS MILLIONS OF YEARS AGO? THE UNPUBLISHED DISCOVERIES OF MODERN ARCHAEOLOGY BIOGRAPHY MICHAEL A. CREMO is research associate in history of archaeology. He is a member of the World Archaeological Congress since 1993. His WAC3 paper “PURANIC TIME AND THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL RECORD” was published in the Routledge One World Archaeology series volume Time and Archaeology (1999), edited by Tim Murray. He is also a member of the EUROPEAN ASSOCIATION OF ARCHAEOLOGISTS. Michael is famous for his book entitles “FORBIDDEN ARCHEOLOGY”, coah which provides evidence for the extreme antiquity of human beings on Earth and challenges the traditional views on human evolution. In a review in BRITISH JOURNAL FOR HISTORY OF SCIENCE, Tim Murray said the book “provides the historian of archaeology with a useful compendium of case studies in the history and sociology of scientific knowledge, which can be used to foster debate within archaeology about how to Michael Cremo describe the epistemology of one’s discipline”. Cremo examines the history of archaeology from the standpoint of alternative worldviews, particularly those with foundations in ancient Indian wisdom traditions. He states that over the past two centuries researchers have found bones and artefacts showing that people like us existed on earth millions of years ago. But the scientific establishment has ignored these remarkable facts because they contradict the dominant views of human origins and antiquity. Cremo and Thompson challenge us to rethink our understanding of human origins, identity, and destiny. FORBIDDEN ARCHEOLOGY takes on one of the most fundamental components

of the modern scientific world view, and invites us to take a courageous first step towards a new perspective. Michael Cremo is also a member of the HISTORY OF SCIENCE SOCIETY, and associate member of the BHAKTIVEDANTA INSTITUTE specializing in history and philosophy of science. TOPIC MAYA COSMOGENESIS AND THE MAYAN CALENDAR END-DATE IN 2012 BIOGRAPHY JOHN MAJOR JENKINS has been researching Maya culture and cosmology since the 1980s. His pioneering books are based on living and working with the highland Maya and in undertaking careful archeo-astronomical investigations of ancient Maya sites. Recently appointed as a National Fellow member in the late Sir Edmund Hillary’s prestigious EXPLORER CLUB, Jenkins has taught at conferences and universities throughout the United States, as well as in Central America, Mexico, Canada, England, and Denmark. His work has been featured on THE HISTORY CHANNEL, the BBC, and the DISCOVERY CHANNEL. His work is also being featured in a PBS documentary called THE ANCIENT SKYWATCHERS, currently in production. A three-time participant in THE CONFERENCES ON PRECESSION AND ANCIENT KNOWLEDGE, John’s work focuses on the astronomical achievements John Major Jenkins made by the Maya and other cultures around the globe. His books include Journey to the MAYA UNDERWORLD (1989), TZOLKIN: VISIONARY PERSPECTIVES AND CALENDAR STUDIES (1992), MAYAN SACRED SCIENCE (1994), GALACTIC ALIGNMENT (2002), THE PYRAMID OF FIRE (2004), and UNLOCKING THE SECRETS OF 2012 (2007). His 1998 book MAYA COSMOGENESIS 2012: THE TRUE MEANING OF THE MAYAN CALENDAR END-DATE IN 2012 AD is considered to be a breakthrough in the effort to reconstruct the ancient Maya calendar and astronomy. John is a frequent contributor to the INSTITUTE OF MAYA STUDIES newsletter, the academic AZTLAN discussion list, and the UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS Mesoamerican

e-list group. John Major Jenkins teaches classes and gives presentations on many different aspects of ancient science, mathematics, mythology, astronomy, calendars, and architectural engineering. He has studied Persian, Hindu, Egyptian, and Greco-Roman traditions. The ancient Maya were advanced in all of these arts, and many new archaeological sites are being found every year, in Mexico and Central America. At sites like Chichen Itza, Palenque, Takalik Abaj, Tikal, and Izapa, new discoveries are helping us to understand the ancient Maya. Their sacred calendar and their knowledge of the stars and astronomical cycles is a focus of John’s work, as well as what the Maya people are doing today, integrating their ancient ways with the pressures of modern life. TOPIC KEEPERS OF ANCIENT KNOWLEDGE THE TIAHUANACO MYSTERY AND THE PEOPLE OF SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA BIOGRAPHY DR. CONSTANTINO MANUEL TORRES is considered one of the world’s foremost experts in ANCIENT ANDEAN SOCIETIES AND CULTURES. He has conducted research on ancient cultures of the higher Andes, Bolivia and northern Chile since 1982. Part of his work has concentrated on the SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA oasis, where hundreds of well preserved mummies in archaeological burial sites facilitate a comprehensive understanding of this desert people. Most importantly, the SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA cultural beliefs were connected to notions of landscape as body, to visionary experiences and an ecstatic approach to the supernatural. Torres is also heavily involved in the study of the art of TIAHUANACO, the most important preINCAN CENTRAL ANDEAN civilisation. His latest efforts attempt to unravel the structure of the Tiahuanaco iconographic configuration. On two occasions he has been an Dr Constantino Manuel Torres invited presenter to the prestigious DUMBARTON OAKS ROUND TABLE, in Washington DC as well as the

symposium on the art of the Central Andes at the CENTER FOR ADVANCED STUDIES in the Visual Arts of the National Gallery, Washington, DC. In 1999, Torres organised several symposia on the art and archaeology of the Andes for the INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF AMERICANISTS and for the SOCIETY FOR AMERICAN ARCHAEOLOGY. His books include ANADENANTHERA: VISIONARY PLANT OF ANCIENT SOUTH AMERICA, a comprehensive and detailed study of this sacred plant of well documented ritual use for at least 4000 years. Also EXPLORING THE SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA/TIAHUANACO RELATIONSHIP IN PENNY DRANSART, ED., ANDEAN ART - VISUAL EXPRESSION and its RELATIONSHIP WITH ANDEAN VALUES AND BELIEFS, WORLDWIDE ARCHAEOLOGY SERIES. The book TESOROS DE SAN PEDRO DE ATACAMA was published by the MUSEO CHILENO DE ARTE PRECOLOMBINO as part of an exhibition of art from the northern Chilean desert. He has published numerous articles on the ancient cultures of Tiahuanaco and the Atacama people in journals in Chile, the United States, and Europe. Torres has been the recipient of two FULBRIGHT FELLOWSHIPS for the study of the Pre-Columbian art of the Andes and northern Chile.
