Interesting Facts 1) Just over 2/3 of the entire European Jewish population was killed in the Holocaust. 2) Five million others including the disabled were killed in the Holocaust. 3) This results in just about 11 million killed in The Holocaust which is almost twice as many as the number we so frequently hear. 4) One of the ethnic groups killed in the Holocaust were the Romani. 5) Over one million Romani were victims to the Holocaust. 6) One of the most amazing things about the Holocaust was how swiftly it was put into action after Hitler came into power. 7) Another thing that is almost unbelievable is that Hitler openly spoke about his plans before coming into power and had written in his diary about it. 8) One of the main reasons that Germans went along with Hitler was just how persuasive he was and that Germany was in a gigantic depression after losing WWI. 9) Adolf Hitler’s true plan was world domination. 10)Holocaust comes from Greek and literally means completely burnt. 11) The poetic translation of Holocaust is sacrifice by fire. 12)Along with Germany, Italy helped in the progression of the Holocaust. 13)Although Hitler wanted a strictly Arian race he himself had almost no Arian qualities. 14) Another quality Germany admired in Adolf Hitler was that he was a decorated WWI veteran. 15)In 1945, Hitler married his long time mistress and only 40 hours later they committed suicide.
