the Graveyard A graveyard will soon be built to honor all the great mathematicians that made significant advances in the mathematical world. You will become part of it. You will choose a mathematician from a list your teacher will provide and get to know that person. You can use internet and print sources to create an comic depicting the contributions of your mathematician. In the completion phase, you will build a tombstone for him or her and make sure the stone is marked with an epitaph appropriate for that mathematician.

The grade will be included in your 2nd marking period grade. You are responsible to turn all the pieces in on the days specified above. You will be given enough class time to complete research components as well as time to create your final draft. If you read the grading rubric carefully and follow the directions step-by-step this assignment will not be difficult. Step Select a mathematician. Fill in the graphic organizer. Turn in the graphic organizer to be graded. Use organizer to create an essay depicting the life and achievements of your mathematician. Have a classmate edit your rough draft. Turn in the the rough draft to be graded. Make the appropriate changes to the rough draft that your teacher has suggested.

Print your final draft. Turn in your final draft to be graded. Create an epitaph for your mathematician. Create your tombstone. Check to make sure your tombstone has no spelling or grammatical errors. Turn in your tombstone to be graded. Each component of this project will be worth a percentage of the final grade. Remember this will be calculated as a test grade, which are worth 30% of your final grade. Rubrics are attached for each category below. You will receive ONE rubric to turn in; if you need to ask for another one your grade will be deducted by 2.5 points for each copy. Component
