The first car appeared on British road in 1888 . By the year 2000, there may be as many at 29 million vehicles on the British road . Alternative forms of transport should be encouraged and international laws introducted to control car ownership and use . Car was one of the greatest human inventions which is convenient to shorten the distance and bring people side by side . However, the negative effects on environment which make our life worse using the private car have put the government in urgent condition and enact stricter laws to reduce the number of cars usage In order to protect environment , scientists must find other forms of energy to replace the fossil fuel vehicle . In the first year of 21 st century , some green energy inventions as car using electronic power was used in several countries and brought hope of improving health and environment . Green energy was the best solution that some nations chose to be formulated in their laws . For example , Beijing is known as the most polluted city in the world and thanks to environmental reform-using compulsory blue system –in which the government encourage their citizens to use clean power like solar system and escape fossil fuel .Consequently, residents in here felt better when they could breathe fresher air Both overwhelming car and polluted air are the main factors which lead to negative effects on society wasting vast amount of money and time for traffic jam . The fact happens to megacities such as Los Angeles , New York . One of the effective ways to resolve these problem is imposing laws to cut down private cars , intensifying public transport , Singapore is a specific example in enhancing national consciousness in protecting environment .Most of the citizen commute by tubes or buses instead of their private cars. Although they must leave earlier for work or school , they get more involved in protecting their life To sum up, despite the great benefits which cars bring to all aspect of life , limiting them by other alternative means of transport is a must- do action the sooner the better . In the mean time , not only must development countries take prompt actions, but developing countries also research and set out the legal frames for a more effective car usage control mechanism
