The Father of Peace
Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on 2nd October 1869 in Porbander, British India. He was married to Kasturbai at the age of 13. He was a legendary debater because of the way he fought against the British without of violence. On September 4th he travelled to England to study to become a lawyer. Gandhi was awarded the name ‘Mahatma’ at the beginning of his name because of his ways he fought with the British. Mahatma means ‘Great Soul’. He lead over 30 million Indians without any violence. He is a respected and honored man to all of India.
Mahatma Gandhi possessed many character traits. He was a trustworthy and caring man to all Indians because he lead everyone to freedom. He was a very persuasive person when talking to the Indians to convince them to fight the British without violence. He was helpful to all Indians in help getting freedom. He was a calm and patient person because he knew if he had acted impatiently the British would kill him.
The conflict in his country in that time was British ruling India. British ruled India for a hundred and fifty years. India hated following whatever the British had said, they wanted their own freedom. Then came along Mahatma Gandhi who hated non-violence. He too wanted India to get Independence. He went in public and told everyone to fight back, but without violence.
Gandhi used nonviolence in getting the British out of the India to make India have independence, by using persuasion in getting the Indians minds to stop using violence to fight. That was the conflict resolution of the problem. It took a lot of time in getting this to happen, but because of the hard work, Gandhi accomplished this goal.
Reflection: Mahatma Gandhi was a loving and caring person to all. Everyone respected him, to me he is a person that only appears once in a hundred centuries. Gandhi was a sign from god. He is also one of the greatest debaters in world, he was so persuasive in talking in public, his choice of words is amazing!! Gandhi also has unbelievable and touching quotes. He is a man with the greatest potential than anyone. I am proud to be an Indian because of Mahatma Gandhi.
