1. a) "silence is the music of the other world" and, " We have to earn silence, then, to work for it: to make it not an absence but a presence; not emptiness but repletion" b) The purpose of the thesis is to tell the audience that silence is something that is taken for granted and the power of the lack of or thereof words is expressed in hidden emotions, thoughts and ideas. My examples demonstrates his belief by saying that silence is the music of the other -world or the unconscious; thus, silence is most appreciated in its absence. My other example describes that silence is to be earned; and rather then our normal idea that silence is just a abstract void, it is rather a omniscient presence. 2. A balance of silence and noise should be a part of your life. There is a place for silence everyday, as there is for a place for shouting, and etc. "if noise is the signature tune of the world, silence is the music of the other world, " This passage describes that silence is the unconscious state, whilst noise is the conscious state of thought. 3. Ayer uses many allusions to previous authors. "profound things and emotions of things are preceded and attended by Silence" , " A man who loves God, necessarily loves silence" 4.

He uses this simultaneously with another paradox. b) Hyperbole - it was effective showing the other side of silence in which in the preceding statement, silence was attended with all things emotional, it became a paradox which described silence as being destructive to ones hopes and dreams. e) Antithesis, or paradox - This is effective in that for each example of when we are in the need of talking, we are at a loss, and when we are with those we love, we are silent. Which provides great emphasis on his thesis. 6. ; b) The clangour of the world is used to describe that the world is noisy in which every interaction in daily life creates chaos (noise). d) Words are used to cover embarrassment or to guise your true intentions. e) Silence is a type of noise which is very moving, persuasive, and mesmerizing.
