• As the chart shows, the more coffee you drink the lower your risks are for contracted type 2 diabetes. However the risks decrease more for men rather than women.

Cups Per Day • This chart shows the general amount of cups of coffee that people drink every day. It gives the idea that changes in the body caused by coffee drinking are rare due to the low percentage over 4 cups a day.

Myths About Coffee Drinking • Rumors have been said that too much coffee drinking will cause duodenal ulcer and ulcerative colitis, however research shows that there is not relation between ulcers and ingestion of coffee. • People sometimes say that you should give a drunk person coffee to sober them up, however coffee will only make a sober person feel awake. The level of alcohol in there system will remain the same whether or not an intoxicated person drinks coffee.

What Is It In Coffee That Causes These Changes? • The caffeine in the coffee is the number one chemical that causes metabolic rate, “jitteriness”, high blood pressure, low birth weight, etc. • The potassium, magnesium and antioxidants are what help glucose metabolism.

Conclusion • I don’t believe that coffee is a harmful substance. Unless the person drinks 7 to 8 cups of coffee per day, there should be no side effects other than the occasional “jitteriness”, or minor anxiety. If you experience muscle spasms, heart palpitations, or trouble sleeping, decaffeinated coffee would be a sensible transition. Coffee drinking in moderation is almost always harmless. Coffee drinking in large amounts has its advantages as well as disadvantages, however the damages are more likely to happen.
