Doctrine is defined as the following: (Latin: doctrina) is a codification of bel iefs or "a body of teachings" or "instructions", taught principles or positions, as the body of teachings in a branch of knowledge or belief system. Jesus had a doctrine or teachings, if you will. John 7:14-29 Now about the midst of the fea st Jesus went up into the temple, and taught. And the Jews marvelled, saying, Ho w knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Jesus answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Mose s give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me? The people answered and said, Thou hast a devil: who goeth about to kill th ee? Jesus answered and said unto them, I have done one work, and ye all marvel. Moses therefore gave unto you circumcision; (not because it is of Moses, but of the fathers;) and ye on the sabbath day circumcise a man. If a man on the sabbat h day receive circumcision, that the law of Moses should not be broken; are ye a ngry at me, because I have made a man every whit whole on the sabbath day? Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment. Then said some o f them of Jerusalem, Is not this he, whom they seek to kill? But, lo, he speaket h boldly, and they say nothing unto him. Do the rulers know indeed that this is the very Christ? Howbeit we know this man whence he is: but when Christ cometh, no man knoweth whence he is. Then cried Jesus in the temple as he taught, saying , Ye both know me, and ye know whence I am: and I am not come of myself, but he that sent me is true, whom ye know not. But I know him: for I am from him, and h e hath sent me. Plain Jesus taught a doctrine or had a body of teachings. The Ap ostles only edified or built from the foundation that he gave them. Everything C hrist did was show us the way. (Hebrews 4:15 and Matthew 3:12-17) As he alone is the way, truth, and life; no man can come unto God except him and his name. Joh n 14:5-15 Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how c an we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have kn own my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him. Philip s aith unto him, Lord, show us the Father, and it sufficeth us. Jesus saith unto h im, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? h e that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Show us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the wo rds that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in m e: or else believe me for the very works' sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father. And whatsoever ye shall as k in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. If ye love me, keep my commandmen ts. Here we can receive all (Of the greatness of God has for all people who fear him and regardless of being rich or poor, white or black, or anything in betwee n.) according to his will in the name of Jesus. This would include salvation. Af ter the baptism of Jesus by John in the Jordan River, he was full of the Holy Gh ost. Luke 4:1 And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and w as led by the Spirit into the wilderness. He was then tempted by Satan in the wi lderness. (A type or example of the world.) After your baptism in Jesus name Sa tan also will tempt any new child of God with the lust and pride of life. Even a s he did our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. (Luke 4:2-14) We later see that Jes us preached in Nazareth (He was rejected in his own country.) and later in Caper naum. Luke 4:31-36 And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught the m on the sabbath days. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for his word wa s with power. And in the synagogue there was a man, which had a spirit of an unc lean devil, and cried out with a loud voice, Saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? art thou come to destroy us? I know the e who thou art; the Holy One of God. And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy pea ce, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came

out of him, and hurt him not. And they were all amazed, and spake among themsel ves, saying, What a word is this! for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out. Here Jesus taught all a doctrine that was b acked up by the power and spirit of God. The devils (Who were being cast out by God enfleshed.) themselves state that he was the "Holy One". In the name of Jesu s we are to baptized, cast out demons, heal sicknesses, ect. This is found in Ma rk 16:15-18 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gosp el to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he t hat believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believ e; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; The y shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. Also the book of Acts reports these facts: We read in Acts 2:38 Repent, and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. Acts 3:6 Then Pet er said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the nam e of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk. Peter explaining here how the ma n was healed in Jesus name earlier. Acts 3:16 And his name through faith in his name hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this perfect soundness in the presence of you all. Also in A cts 4:8-12 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel, If we this day be examined of the good deed do ne to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole; Be it known unto you all , and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man sta nd here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you build ers, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any o ther: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Acts 16:18 And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turne d and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour. Acts 19:4-6 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they shoul d believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When the y heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul ha d laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with ton gues, and prophesied. The gift of the Holy Ghost with the evidence of a another tongue or language. It does not save anyone but instead it adds Holy Ghost power for your witnessing and other gifts of the spirit. The gifts and calling are wi thout repentance. (Romans 11:29) Jesus is the same always. (Hebrews 13:8) And wh at happened then still happens today. Acts 19:13-17 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the na me of the LORD Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth. And th ere were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who a re ye? And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them , and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and woun ded. And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. Acts 2:4144 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in praye rs. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the a postles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common. The Apo stles and disciple with them baptized 3,000 in Jesus name. (It would of taken le ss than an hour for the 120 to do so. 52 minutes by my calculations to be exact. That is for the 120 to do one per minute. Some who never complete baptism for t he correct purposes or name often try to challenge this fact.) The Apostles taug ht or had a doctrine of which they passed on to the new converts. Acts 5:28-29 S aying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? an d, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man's blood upon us. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ou

ght to obey God rather than men. Here again is the Apostle's doctrine or the Apo stles teaching about Jesus as by the Holy Spirit. We go to Acts 13 where Paul is preaching the same doctrine as the other Apostles taught. Acts 13:9-12 Then Sa ul, (who also is called Paul,) filled with the Holy Ghost, set his eyes on him. And said, O full of all subtilty and all mischief, thou child of the devil, thou enemy of all righteousness, wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of th e Lord? And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt be bl ind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist a nd a darkness; and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. Then the deputy, when he saw what was done, believed, being astonished at the doctrine of the Lord. Paul himself was baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus and did so. S ee Acts 10:36, 16:15/33, 18:8, 19:1-5, and 22:16. They all spoke and thought the y same way. Ephesians 4:3-7 Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one h ope of your calling; One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all , who is above all, and through all, and in you all. But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ. In the mouth of two or three witnesses is everything established. (John 8:17, Numbers 35:30, Deuter onomy 17:6, and Revelations 11:12) If you would rather believe your church than Christ then you are lost. That is the Antichrist spirit, to follow men instead o f the word and will of God! Romans 16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learne d; and avoid them. How did you learn doctrine but through and by the living word of God. 2 Timothy 3:16-17 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteo usness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good w orks. Jesus himself said all must abide in him and by the word of the one true G od. Matthew 4:4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by b read alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. 1 Timothy 6:3-5 If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godlin ess; He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strife's of wo rds, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings, Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is god liness: from such withdraw thyself. Again the warning to those who reject Chris t and his word. They will not be accepted here nor in the age to come. Jesus sai d himself. Matthew 7:21-23 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall e nter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which i s in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wo nderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. We all know that they did not comply with baptism in the name of Jesus, as he is Lord of all. Here we must be found in Christ our roc k and not the sands of men's traditions. Matthew 7:24-29 Therefore whosoever hea reth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, wh ich built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, an d the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them no t, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it. And it came to pass, when Jes us had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: For he t aught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes. The teaching of Jesu s Christ must be the most important thing in your life if you expect to be saved . You must endure until the very end to be saved. Mark 13:13 And ye shall be hat ed of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the sam e shall be saved. 2 Timothy 2:3-5 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good sold ier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.

Also verses 10-12 of the same chapter. Therefore I endure all things for the el ects sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus wit h eternal glory. It is a faithful saying: For if we be dead with him, we shall a lso live with him: If we suffer, we shall also reign with him: if we deny him, h e also will deny us. I know everyone wants the quick and easy way in all things. Sometimes like Christ, we must allow God to increase and us to decrease. This i s called grow pains. must like a person who is a weigh-lifter or runs track. The must through the study and discipline in order to gain the victory. We live in a imperfect world. It is not one of ease and comfort. Now Christ himself died fo r all sin. (Hebrews 9:15-22 and John 1:29) He died for our benefit that all migh t be saved. Jesus himself said this fact. John 3:5. Jesus answered, Verily, veri ly, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. We all need to be born of the water baptism and r eceive the spirit by faith in Christ. See Romans 6:4, Colossians 2:12, and Galat ians 3:27. Christ died so that all might be saved through faith and his name sak e. John 3:14-18 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so mu st the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not peris h, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only bego tten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlastin g life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that t he world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. If you really believe hen you will obe y. James 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. 1 John 3:18 My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And Hebrews 11:1,6-7 Now faith is the subst ance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to th e saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of t he righteousness which is by faith. Finally, we read in 1 Peter 3:20-21: Which s ometime were disobedient, when once the long suffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water. The like figure where unto even baptism doth also now save us (n ot the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscien ce toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ. If we fail to obey Christ w e are none of his. See John 14:15,15:14, and 1 John 2:4 He that saith, I know hi m, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Als o 1 John 2:8-11 Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and br ing not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God spee d: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds. If we are he re for Jesus Christ then we will indeed obey his word, without fear or favor of any man. Your persistence in Christ will overcome the resistance of Satan. May G od give all who love him in truth eternal life and peace.
