SYNOPSIS The costs of quality are the cost associated with the prevention, discovery, and resolving of defects. These costs can arise whether the product in the design stages, manufacturing plant, or in the customer's hand. It is important to identify the cost of quality so that we can determine the expenses associated with producing a quality product. The present study aims at making a detailed literature review associated with use of QUALITY in construction industry. Data necessary to achieve the objectives of the dissertation work is collected from ongoing projects. Sample photographs of some ongoing construction activities are included. The study focuses on what are Construction Defects? “Poor Quality Cost Measurement (PQCM)”. And also shows Defective building construction not only contributes to the final cost of the product but also to the cost of maintenance, which can be substantial. The study concludes, by presenting some qualitative findings, and recommendations based on the above work.
