Major events Arneaus creates a scene with Odysseus and challenges him to a boxing match. Athena gives Odysseus extra strength and stature because he is an old man/ beggar. Odysseus just stops before killing Arneaus.
Events Continued After the boxing match Amphinomus is one suitor in particular that congratulates him. He gives him food and something to drink. He also tells Odysseus that he will soon return and give the suitors little warning to leave his palace.
The Trick Penelope tricks the suitors into bringing her gifts. One so she can get back at them for taking her belongings and second so she can take their belongings.
Athena She plays a big role in this book because without her Odysseus would not have been able to beat Arneaus. She also helped Penelope inflame the suitor’s hearts by giving her extra stature and beauty. She also has Amphinomus bound to death by the hands of Telemachus.
