Introduction • I would talking about the abortion, their physical and emotional consequences in women and men. Also, I talk about the post-abortion syndrome, and show some statistics in Puerto Rico and other countries.
Purpose My purpose is to persuade you, (especially women), do not abort or think about it, because the abortion have many consequences that the women don’t know.
What is abortion? An abortion is the removal or expulsion of an embryo or fetus from the uterus, resulting in or caused by its death.

Consequences in Women
Consequences • The abortion have two types of consequences – Physically – Emotionally
Physical Consequences • Some physical consequences are: – An increase risk of breast, cervical, ovarian and liver cancer. – Complications, such as uterine perforation, cervical laceration, and placenta previa cannot only cause very severe problems, but they can also lead to problems in future pregnancies, such as miscarriages, premature births, fetal deaths and children born with handicaps, because any problem or change with a woman’s reproductive organ may affect the development of her children.
Physical Consequences – Infection, including pelvic inflammatory disease, occur in 30% of abortions; if not stopped soon enough, they can leave a woman barren. – 2% of women who have abortions suffer life threatening complications, such as bleeding, fever, infections, etc.
Emotional Consequences • Some Emotional Consequences are: – Diminished respect for human life – Psychological Reactions • • • •
Alcoholism Smoking Drug Abuse Self-Destructive
– Flashbacks and nightmares – Destruction of trust between men and women – Increased rates of divorce, domestic violence, and child abuse.
Emotional Consequences – Feelings of guilt or regret among father or aborted children. – Post Abortion Syndrome • A series of psychological effects experienced by 19% to 60% of women, ranging from mild depression to suicide or attempted suicide.

The law don’t protect women who have abortions • In the 1983, the Tribunal Supremo, deny the statute that obligate a abortionists to inform women’s about the different consequences that this practice involved. • A studied shown that 80% of interviewing women who have abortions, complained, because the abortionists don’t tell the true when they go to search information about the methods of abortion.

Conclusion In conclusion, I make this presentation for persuade a women, do not abort. Because this have dangerous consequences that affected. Not in the moment, but it will be affected in the future. I hope that the people, think about this problem that today is affecting the people in the society and do something for get better.
