Test The Politicians

The misrepresentations, evasions, cleverly crafted distractions and outright lies of political campaigning make it difficult to vote wisely. Citizens need something more solid to go on. So lets require all candidates, local state and national, to take standardized tests similar to those that politicians impose on school kids. Only these tests would be job specific. Those aspiring to the presidency/vice presidency, for example, could be tested on their knowledge of history, geography, international relations, economics, science, perhaps even ethics. The candidate’s scores would be published, broadcast and posted for all of us to see well prior to the election.
