Teacher Resources Association of Jewish Libraries (AJL) Jewish Valuesfinder www.ajljewishvalues.org The New Jewish Valuesfinder, published by the Association of Jewish Libraries, is a free, online, and easy-to-use guide to Jewish values in children's books. Its an everexpanding database currently lists over 550 books recommended for preschool through high school. Each book is analyzed for the Jewish values it contains, as well as for its content areas. The database can be searched by author, title, illustrator, publisher, Jewish values, subjects, grade level, and year of publication. A book bag feature allows lists of selected titles to be printed and used as bibliographies. Another very useful feature is the descriptive and critical note that accompanies each title. AJL's New Jewish Valuesfinder is for teachers, librarians, clergy, parents, and everyone who cares about what Jewish children read. Reports Judaism 2.0: Identity, Philanthropy and the New Media http://www.jesna.org/document-manager/doc_download/193-judaism-20-identityphilanthrophy-and-the-new-media This report documents a few of the many ways that Jewish communications professionals are using the new technology to engage in Jewish life. We’ve highlighted a small sample of noteworthy online offerings with an eye toward providing new models for communicating, and made some broad suggestions for being responsive to the new modalities. We believe that the latest thinking on new media can serve as a guide to Jewish philanthropic investment, and our aim is to inspire, as well as to inform about the potential of an exciting new field of thinking.
