Vocational Agriculture Technology Acceptable Use Policy Introduction Welcome to the Vocational Agriculture Program. Technology will be used frequently in our classes. Students, parents and teachers need to understand the roles and responsibility of appropriate technology use. Please read the following expectations and sign below. Technology is a privilege in our classrooms. As a program we integrate applicable technology in our content areas to help students learn to use the most current technologies. Please respect the privilege by complying with the following standards. Webpage and Internet Use Students will be expected to use the Internet for school purposes only. The use of social networking sites and personal email will not be tolerated in class. Email use will be permitted when it is related to class. Netiquette Netiquette is a new term emerging in our technology driven society that refers to being a responsible user of technology, especially when using the Internet. Students should never post personal information about themselves on the Internet. Posting personal information compromises your safety and other students around you. Bullying through the use of technology will not be tolerated. Use of Language Students should always portray themselves and their school in a professional light by using appropriate language. Foul language will not be tolerated. Students will be expected to use classroom appropriate language. Copyright and Plagiarism Students should be aware of the rights of the writer while researching and composing assignments. All sources should be documented. Plagiarism will not be tolerated, when paraphrasing information sources should be listed and credit given to the author. Plagiarism will result in an F grade. If students follow the expectations listed above we will have an enjoyable experience in our class and we will be able to utilize technology in an effective manner. Please sign the following.
