INTRODUCTION There is a tremendous amount of information available on the World Wide Web. Wether a student, teacher, researcher, businessperson, or interested individual searches the World Wide Web, the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming . As more people gain access to information on the Web and more content is continuously added, it is important to know how to evaluate Web sites to determine if the information is reliable . Most Web content is posted without any form of review for accuracy or reliability, so it is up to us to make sure that the information we find is credible. Presented by :-SHIBA NARAYAN SARANGI

WHY CRITICALLY THINKING NEEDED Evaluating a site means applying individual judgment. Good information on bad sites, and bad information on good sites. Information on the Web should be viewed as no more or less than information from other sources. Authorship on the Web does not mean “authority.” Evaluation of web sites is a means, not an end.

CONCLUSION Wrong information is more harmful than correct information. If we make a decision based on wrong or unreliable information, we do not have power--we have defeat. So evaluation of the Word Wide Web is a must for all students, researchers and surfers, who use internet regularly.
