INTRODUCTION  There is a tremendous amount of information available on the World Wide Web.  Wether a student, teacher, researcher, businessperson, or interested individual searches the World Wide Web, the sheer volume of information can be overwhelming .  As more people gain access to information on the Web and more content is continuously added, it is important to know how to evaluate Web sites to determine if the information is reliable .  Most Web content is posted without any form of review for accuracy or reliability, so it is up to us to make sure that the information we find is credible. WHY CRITICALLY THINKING NEEDED  Evaluating a site means applying individual judgment.  Good information on bad sites, and bad information on good sites.  Information on the Web should be viewed as no more or less than information from other sources.  Authorship on the Web does not mean “authority.”  Evaluation of web sites is a means, not an end.

Points for evaluation of content  What is the purpose of the Web Page & what does it contain?  How complete and accurate are the information and provided?  How comprehensive is this site?  How comprehensive is this site?
