Task 1: This is a group activity. (NO TWO GROUP ANSWERS BE SAME) I. Take a business problem for research. (All group problems are different) a) Clearly define the research problem. b) List the research questions. c) Related to these questions list various constructs. d) List the variables to measure these constructs.
II. Refer the file “Determinants of Brand Loyalty”, a research articles uploaded in the MOODLE. Write detailed description of the following a) Referring to six cited literature, mention why it is cited, how it is connected to the main work. How these references are connected to the statement of problem or research question or purpose of research. Several researchers, such Iglesias et al, 2011,Consumer and marketing relationMorgan and Hunt, 1994; Sargeant and Lee, 2004; Sung and Campbell, 2009). Customer experience-Berry et al., 2002; Iglesias et al., 2010, Consumer commitment-(Allen and Meyer, 1990; Burmann and Zeplin, 2005; Burmann et al., 2009; Gong et al., 2009; Priyadarshi, 2011, The reason behind borrowing statements from other sources is to finish work early with less involvement and his creativity ,there is no contribution when it is borrowed because it belong to somebody else ,hard work and research, contribution can be made to knowledge on a particular subject through the literature review ,literature review undertaken as part of his topic that related to the main research quations. Place each work in a context of its contribution to understanding the research problem being studied,Litrature review help to focus your topic narrowly, and also help to select the paper accordingly,it also help to evaluate the resech paper broadly,by connected to the research problem like What types of methodologies do they used, what kind of testing procedures, subjects, material tested and Evaluate and synthesize the research findings and conclusions drawn and also note the expert in the field and also note the
methodologies etc.. and
it also helpful for devolping a subtopic and also help to
develop a thesis, like one or two sentence statement summarizing the conclusion you have reached about the major trends and developments you see in the research that has been done on your subject..
Purpose of research The main purpose of the study of research is to identify and explain the problem The study involves deception or a withholding of information as necessary and justifiable research strategy, The Purpose of the Study statement should be written in such a way whereby the least possible deception and withholding of information occurs The purpose of research is to information gathering Exploratory or Descriptive, Exploratory means Discovering and Exploring the information and as the same Descriptive means gathering information, describing and summarizing the information The purpose of research is to theory testing it includes Explanatory theory example like testing and understanding the causal relations and Predictive theory example like predicting what might happen in various scenarios. The purpose of research is to want to begin working on a solution as soon as possible it tried to solve the problem
Extra
gives readers easy access to research on a particular topic by selecting high quality articles or studies that are relevant, meaningful, important and valid and summarizing them into one complete report
It provides an excellent starting point for researchers beginning to do research in a new area by forcing them to summarize, evaluate, and compare original research in that specific area
It ensures that researchers do not duplicate work that has already been done
It can provide clues as to where future research is heading or recommend areas on which to focus
It highlights key findings
It identifies inconsistencies, gaps and contradictions in the literature
It provides a constructive analysis of the methodologies and approaches of other researchers
b) What is difference between an articles cited in the introduction and an article (not necessarily the same) cited in the literature review? Research article referred to an primary source, as it is reported on original research, they also include section such as introduction, method, result and discussion. Under the Research article different steps are followed in the research process they includes: Abstract 1. Provide the description of problem being investigated in the research 2. Under the research includes the participants and pertinent characteristics of those participants 3. Explain the methodology of the study 4. Summarizes the basic findings of the research study 5. Finally include conclusion, implication or finding of study Introduction: when we are conducting the research we as to provide the purpose of investigation Method: Disclose how the investigation was conducted and what procedures were used Results: When we are collecting the review we suppose to analyses of the investigation Discussion: After getting the result we as to summarize, interpret and discusses the implication of the investigation results Review articles, is called as secondary source and also a literature reviews, as under Review research it will be analyze the research which has been already conducted in primary sources. And also critically evaluate previously published research paper and they also generally summarize the current of research on a given topic.
Review articles helps to provide the definition and clear cut clarification of the problem
Review articles helps to provide summery of earlier research
It also makes the suggestion in the next step to solving the problem
It provides the conclusion and implication of a theory or practise
c) Mention how the citation helps in justifying points discussed in different parts of the article. Giving two instances in the article. d) How historical context is supported through cited papers/articles. e) Relationship among the work carried out in the area of interest. f) Based on the literature review what research gap is mentioned?
Research gap is a research question or problem which has not been answered appropriately or at all in a given field of study.in other words it can be defined as research gap is a topic or area for which missing or insufficient information limits the ability to reach a conclusion for a question.in other words the gap is consider as a missing pieces it as been not explored or under explored ,the gap may be in the form of population like size type location etc..
Research gap is actually what makes your research publishable, why? Because it shows that you are not duplicating the existing research; it shows the deep understanding and knowledge in the selected field it and it shows that you have conducting a research which fulfills the gap in the literature. Identifying the gaps and generating the research questions can be used as the first and most important step in writing a research paper. for overcoming this difficulty, finding original and innovative topics, and distinguishing the gaps in the literature is never an easy feat.
g) How literatures are cited in the methodology of the research work? Here the literatures cited means this is the last section of the paper. Here we should provide the alphabetical listing of all the published work you cited in the text of the paper. This does not mean that every article you found in your research; only include the works you actually cited in the text of your paper. In other meaning the literature cited means References It includes the citations that give the sources of background that we are referred and also related material so the target audience can be understood It provide an examples of ideas, data, or conclusions to compare and contrast with this work, It gives the credit to the source as we are referred
The reference will also help to the other people to work on the same topic Author can also verify the accuracy of the references
