When the result of a completed activity is important, you should use the present perfect simple tense. Some verbs are not usually used in the progressive forms e.g. understand, agree, like, believe, know etc. You should use the present perfect simple tense (not present perfect continuous). Sometimes it doesn’t really matter whether you should use the present perfect simple or present perfect continuous. Both have the similar meaning.
