Tabulation
Tabulation
is the logical and systematic organization of statistical data in rows and column, designed to Simplify the presentation. Tabulation enables the significance of data readily understood, and leaves a lasting impression than textual presentation. Enable the reader to quickly locate the desired information. It facilitates quick comparison of statistical data shown between rows and columns.
Parts of Table A good statistical table must contain at least the following pats:-
1.Table Number When several tables are used ,they should be numbered e.g. Table 1,Table 2 etc. to facilitate future reference. Sex

2) Table Title Each table must have a suitable title. The Title is a brief description of the contents and it is generally shown at the top of the Table. The Title will be clear, brief and selfsatisfactory. Since long title cannot be properly be read as promptly as short title. A complete title has to answer the questions what, where, and when in that sequence.
For example: Table Title:-Variation of Population of India from 1901 Year Total 1901

3) Caption: Caption refers to the column heading. It explains what the column represents. It may consist of one or more column heading. If there are many columns, say more than four, they should also be serially numbered. Under column heading there may be subheads. If the different columns are expressed in different units, the unit should be specified along with captions.

7) Footnote Anything in a table which the reader may find difficult to understand from the title, captions and stubs should be explained in footnotes. Footnotes are placed directly below the body of the table. Footnotes are used for three main purpose To clarify anything in the table Any special circumstances affecting the data i.e. strike, fire etc. To give the source of secondary data.
