CLARK COUNTY, WA LABOR FORCE CHARACTERISTICS Approximately 60,000 (33%) Clark County workers commute to jobs in the Oregon portion of the Metropolitan area. 79% of those commuters would take a similar job in Clark County even if the pay was lower to avoid the commute and the 9% income tax that Oregon imposes on them. Thus, even at low levels of unemployment there is an available labor pool in Clark County.
