Rapid Mixer Granulator(RMG) Homogenous mixing of dry & wet powders, deaglomeration of wet mass and fast dispersion of binding agent. Dust free, high free flowing dosing particles, high uniformity of granule size. AC frequency control for bottom driven Impeller Mixer with 3 or 4 blades with exclusive scrape side design and Chopper positioned to make granules. Default Pneumatic discharge assembly and pneumatic bowl lifting makes ease the operation. GEM supplies RMG of capacities 5Ltrs to 1200Ltrs.

Working Principle The Rapid Mixer Granulator is mixing unit with a bottom entry agitator ad side mounted chopper for granulation. It is used for dry blending, wet mixing, preparation of dough and granulation, i.e. cutting of the wet mass into small size granules. It works on the basic principle of agitation of the contents of the bowl at moderate speed and then running a specially profiled cutter blade at high speeds into the wet mass. Optional Available : • As far as possible paint free construction. • Flame proof motors / controls. • Powder loading system / bin hoist. • Ball spray for faster, in place cleaning with in built pump and necessary pipeline and fittings. • Vacuum suction for dust free operation with in built blower /vacuum pump. • Color solution spray unit with nozzle and pump. • Anti vibration mounting.

• Printer to give details of running time and control as per preset move. • Material of construction can be from 100% SS 316 to various combinations of SS 316 and SS 304. • Telescopic shaft arrangement for taking the impeller up without removing the impeller for cleaning purpose. • Manual or PLC controlled operation. • Direct coupled gearbox and motor

Mixing Bowl: The bowl comprises of a flat base with a lower vertical cylindrical wall section and an upper conical section to achieve uninterrupted and efficient mixing. The bowl is fixed on the main frame by an angle ring, suitably fastened on the main base frame. Main Impeller: The main impeller is run by a belt drive arrangement through motor gearbox assembly and consists of consists of three profiled blades rotating at the bottom at two speeds of 75 & 150 normally. Granulator: The granulator is a specially designed cutter tool run by a two speed 1500 / 3000 RPM motor mounted on the side of the body and provided with an integral SS shaft, with suitable seals. Bowl Cover: A SS cover with suitable ring gasket seal and counter balanced load is provided for the bowl. Openings for feeder, air vent and other connections as specified and shown in general arrangement drawing, are provided on this lid. The lid is clamped with 3 toggle clamps spaced at 90 degrees along the circumference of the bowl. Discharge Port : A pneumatically operated SS discharge valve is built horizontally into the wall of the bowl with vertical downward opening. This discharge can provide direct feed to the next machine and is operated from the control panel by switches provided. Machine Base : Machine base is fabricated in MS / SS channel frame with smooth painted finish. Alternatively this can also be provided with SS cladding as specified. Base is provided with step ladder and guar drail. The platform is covered with SS Dimpled plates for safe movement of operator. The area under the bowl is covered with SS. The entire body is covered from the sides by suitable SS covers.

Operation Control: A control panel is provided on the machine table adjacent to the bowl. All buttons are clearly indicated and provided with operating lamps. This operates through the main, master panel. In case of PLC operated units, the microprocessor based panel operates the contactors through the PLC. As such manual and auto modes are provided for running the machine through the panel, simply as “ON”, “OFF”. Actuation or through AUTO MODE with preset time cycles. The above operation can be printed out through the 80 column printer, for on-line validation and protocol read outs. Main Panel: Consisting of all the master electrical controls prewired with suitable inter locks / over load protectors, fuses, MCB'S, isolator switch. The main electrical 3 phase supply has to be connected in this panel. Shaft Seal Cleaning System : Two vent cocks are provided at the side of the RMG base. One vent cock is used to force water or pressurized air into the seals of the two driving shafts and other is used to drain the water / air after it has cleaned the shaft seals. Bowl Cleaning System Insitu centrifugal pump with inter connecting pipeline, running through the railing pipe and connected to a rotary Turbo Disc, which when pressurized by the pump ensure a uniform splash of wash water all over the internal surfaces of the bowl, preventing hosing by external means. Fresh water to the pump is connected through the water inlet nozzle provided. ( 1” triclover). New versions have shaft telescope arrangement which allows the raising of main impeller by a electro hydraulic arrangement, allowing easy access to access areas below the impeller, without having to open the main impeller housing. Vacuum arrangement By means of a vacuum pump, again housed inside the frame and connected to the lid of bowl by means flexible hoses. Vacuum assists in suck back of any dust after dry blending is achieved and before the lid is opened thereby ensuring dust free area. Filter bags, housed inside the pump, arrest dust so collected. Bags can be easily accessed and washed / replaced. Liquid dosing arrangement Liquid dosing arrangement through an insitu peristaltic pump with

silicon tube connected to a small reservoir and spray nozzle located top on top dish. Allows for dosing of free flowing colors and liquids, insitu and in closed condition, at the press of the button.
