We are half way through the summer and great things have been happening for the Lord. As we are serving at the Word of Life Inn, we have had the great blessing of meeting many people from all over the USA. Debora and I have been doing well, however we have had some minor health issues. Please continue to pray for us as we serve the rest of the summer. Love In Christ, Stephen & Debby Lopez

A Blessing From Bloomfield During the beginning of July we were asked to participate in a vacation Bible School in Bloomfield, NJ. The First Baptist Church of Bloomfield contacted us with a desire to raise funds among the children attending their VBS to send children in Argentina to a Word of Life summer camp. Everyday during the “Son Rock Kids Camp” we shared about Argentina and our summer camp there. At the end of the week the children raised $1,500 dollars for scholarships to send children to camp! What a blessing! We were ecstatic to contact our staff in Argentina to let them know of the good news. We are constantly meeting families in the local churches of Buenos Aires who want to send their kids to camp but may be struggling financially. This will be a tremendous blessing in the lives of those campers. It will provide for more than 25 camper scholarships with the currency exchange. Also on Wednesday of the week of VBS, I gave a presentation of the Gospel using paint. Many of you have seen me do this before, which is a presentation called “Illustrated Evangelism.” The theme of the day was “Jesus saves”. It was awesome to see 15 manifestations of faith, Amen!

I am reminded of the power of God’s Word every time I see churches serving children because I received Christ when I was six years old. The impact of these opportunities to serve others really is eternal. We challenge you to get involved in your local church and enjoy the power of God working through you into the lives of others! 4th of July Outreach

Prayer Requests

This past 4th of July we got to enjoy in good ol’ Schroon Lake, NY! It was the first time we got to see the parade here. It was quite a sight. Believe it or not, one of the cars on display along with the fire trucks and cars, was a septic tank truck! And that’s without mentioning the car with tree trunks for wheels with two guys dress up as hillbillies inside! So I guess it wasn’t the most usual parade, but we enjoyed it a lot. We got to watch it with many of our good friends and partners in ministry which made it really special. Also Word of Life got to host the big event for the whole town which was a huge opportunity for us to leave a good testimony. There was famous Christian musicians and talented missionaries singing. Also the Word of Life collegians (choir) was there. It was really a beautiful night. We were facing the lake, with a full moon in the background and boats were on the lake. Then the fireworks came and it was awesome. Here in New York they really put us people from New Jersey to shame. These fireworks were the real deal! Also our director, Joe Jordan got to give a message at the end. We are thankful that our organization had such an opportunity and platform. The entire area was packed. Sometimes the people that criticize you the most are the ones right from you home town. It was a great opportunity to share our passion for the country and God we serve.

Going The Distance This is Landon Grant, he is from NC and is now a missionary to Guatemala. Landon learned Spanish and prepared for ministry with the Bilingual Bible Program in Argentina. Recently I ran into his mom Angie here at the WOL Inn. It was a blessing to see how the Lord is using Landon. I had the opportunity to disciple Landon and I am really excited to see how the Lord is reaching others through him now. We pray that the Lord will continue to use our ministry to help people just like Landon. We are excited to assist others reach their potential to serving in missions. Pray for Landon as takes steps into fulltime ministry.

HEALTH– I had a knee injury playing baseball. Somehow I managed to tear my meniscus in my right knee and will have surgery soon.

2)

FOCUS- With our busy schedule, please pray that we can keep focused on what God has called us to do.

3)

GOAL- Keep praying for the Lord’s provision of funds in order for us to return to Argentina by September. We are very close and only need a few more monthly supporters to reach the goal.

4)

STUDENTS- We have been talking with at least two teens per week that are interested in attending our program in Argentina. Pray for them as they prepare to go in September and for all their traveling.

I have to admit I only had a few spills! I think it can be a challenge sometimes because people don’t always treat you too well if you are a waiter at their table. But the way I figure it, there may not be many ways to wash peoples feet these days but this could pass for something similar. And especially when they leave a mess!
