FRANKENSTEIN BY MARY SHELLEY Chapter 1 Captain Waltson sees from his ship two sledges. He could see the driver of the first sledge, a huge figure, much bigger than a man. The second sledge chased the first sledge and was driving by a normal man. When night came, there was a storm. In the morning, the sailors saw that great pieces of ice were floating round the ship. On one of them there was a man and near him was a broken sledge. This man was Victor Frankenstein. Here is Victor Frankenstein’s story. Chapters 2-3 He was born in Switzerland, in the town of Geneva. When he was a child he was very happy. With him, also his parents, lived Elizabeth and his brothers, Ernest and Williams. Also, Victor had a good friend named Henry Cleveral. Victor studied very hard at school because he wanted to know the secrets of life. He read a lot of books and wanted to know how to make living things. During a wild storm he discovered the power of the electricity. For seventeen years Victor was happy, but the first sad thing happened: his mother became very ill and died. Later, he was at the university and he realized that he could learn to be a very good scientist. Victor studied a lot to put life into dead things. Suddenly, he was sure that he knew the secret of life. With help of his professors, he built a laboratory. Chapters 4-5 Victor made a man with some pieces of human bodies. The creature was two and half metres tall. Victor joined this creature to the wires from a machine and more wires joined the machine to the mast. He used the electricity to give life to the body when a storm was coming. Suddenly, a huge man began to move and came alive. At this moment Victor was afraid. Later, Victor found his friend, Henry Cleveral, and was very ill. Victor received a letter of his father which said that his brother, William, was dead. William was murdered. Victor went to Geneva and discovered that the murderer had been his creature. Chapters 6-7-8-9 The police arrested Justine, a young woman that was like a sister to Victor. The police thought that she was the murderer because they found a gold chain at Justine house that belonged to William. Victor knew the truth but he can’t tell it. Suddenly, Victor saw his strange creature and this huge man started telling his story. The monster had a lot of problems with other people. People was afraid him. He hid in a hut and learnt to speak with a poor family, until they discovered him and tried kill him with a stick. The monster felt alone and unhappiness and decided to travel to Geneva to find his creator. In his trip he had a bad experience when he tried to save a girl in a river, he received a bullet in the arm. Every day he hated more his creator. The monster killed William and put the gold chain into one of Justine’s pockets.

Chapters 10-11-12-13-14-15 The monster thought that he was alone and miserable. The monster wanted to have a wife and he asked it Victor. Victor answered that would do it. Frankenstein went to Scotland and he built a new laboratory to create a new creature. Suddenly, Victor was afraid. Perhaps the two monsters would hate each other and would kill without end. Victor took a sharp knife and cut through the body that he had joined so carefully. The monster said him: I shall be with you on your wedding night. Later, Victor got married Elizabeth. After the wedding they went to a hotel on the other side of the lake. While Victor searched every corner of the hotel, the monster killed Elizabeth with his hands. Victor left the hotel and returned to Geneva as fast as he could because he thought that the monster could kill his father. His father was alive, although he died soon. Victor entered a dangerous world of dreams and madness. Later, Victor decided to leave Geneva for ever. Victor chased the monster through the world. He wanted to kill him. Victor died and the monster decided to commit suicide.
