Name: ___Samantha Smith______ Reflection paragraph When making our life cycle video for Australia zoo we thought about who was going to watch this video. In the letter it said that we had to make a video for younger students so our group thought about how we could use images, sound and text so kids in prep to year 3 could understand it. This is because they are younger than us. The images our group chose to use were important because they showed the stages of a hibiscus life cycle. We chose a hibiscus because we have all seen them around and thought they would be at the zoo. We used the element of time to make sure that the images were in order and went for 1 second each. This was the right amount of time because it let the audience see each stage. We also had to use time when we made voice-overs and had to put them in at the right time. I thought this was going to be hard but we had already made a storyboard so we could see each stage and say what we had written down. We also put music in as well because there was too much time in between our voice overs and it sounded boring. Next we looked at the element of space. I don’t think we did a very good job at space because our hibiscus flower was so big compared to the sun and didn’t look real. We then had to make our bee really big so it matched the flower. Our text was good because we put it in the same spot every time which meant that the kids watching didn’t have to look all over the screen. The words we chose were at the right age level for younger kids to understand as well. We have learnt about life cycles all this term so we actually know the scientific words but I don’t think young kids would understand these.
