On Tuesday August 25th this article appeared on their web page: Military vs. Climate Security: Mapping the Shift from the Bush Years to the Obama Era This document is a briefing paper written by: Miriam Pemberton is a Research Fellow at the Institute for Policy Studies and Peace and Security Editor of its Foreign Policy in Focus project. Ms. Pemberton writes in the Executive Summary the following: “In addition to creating an existential threat to the planet and its people, rapidly accelerating climate change is a security challenge. The U.S. military now views the massive disruptions that will result, in the absence of concerted global action, as a likely precipitant of increased violent conflict around the world. Yet U.S. security spending has been overwhelmingly concentrated on the tools of military force. The precursor to this paper, “The Budgets Compared: Military vs. Climate Security” (Institute for Policy Studies, January 20081), found that for FY 2008, the Bush administration allocated $88 federal dollars to military forces for every dollar it devoted to stabilizing the climate. The public interest would be served by closing the enormous gap between federal expenditures on military as opposed to climate security. The grounds for this are: • It will make the balance of our security resources more consistent with the relative magnitudes of the threats faced by the nation and the world. • In a time of rising unemployment, this shift will create more jobs than the current balance of spending on military and climate security. • It will redirect the jobs base toward work the country needs doing. This report evaluates the progress of the Obama administration in narrowing this gap. The government’s most important tool for reducing greenhouse gas emissions is to set limits on them; Congress is currently working on a framework to do so. This report focuses on the second-most important tool, namely investment. The Obama administration has not yet produced a climate change budget. This report therefore takes a first cut at one, listing all spending directly related to the

mission of reducing greenhouse gas emissions”. This 68 page document is nothing more than a thinly disguised attack on the American way of life and our national sovereignty. The basic premise of Ms. Pemberton’s thesis is that America has spent far too much on military adventures and that the defense of the nation would be better served by a shift to a campaign of combating global climate change. Ms. Pemberton argues that by 2050, American if it were to fellow her reasoning should be at ZERO carbon emissions…in case you do not know what that means it is simply a world in which no fossil fuels will be allowed! In addition she opines that “since it was and is Americas fault” that the third world is far behind in “clean energy” development it is therefore our moral and financial responsibility to support development of these technologies in the third world. Of course she makes no mention of how America is going to afford or implement these socialist ideals without bleeding ourselves dry of any economic prosperity. To understand the depth and gravity of this tome as it relates to its appearance on an official government website we must understand just exactly who are the Institute of Policy Studies (IPS) and what do they represent. IPS has since its founding carried out wide ranging attacks, propaganda and disinformation campaigns against America whom it believes is “ national security state”, one that is controlled by greedy corporations supporting a militarized regime whose intention is global imperialism. IPS is a Progressive-Socialist-Marxist organization bent on the destruction of public consensus supporting defense spending, NATO, CIA, FBI and other military intelligence agencies. IPS is a radical anarchist organization whose tentacles extend to and embrace, but are not limited to such groups as the left wing World Council of Churches (WCC), American Federation of Labor (AFL), Service Employees International Union (SEIU)…one of Hussein’s favorites, American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) whose founder Roger Baldwin said this: “I am for socialism, disarmament, and ultimately for abolishing the state itself. I seek social ownership of property, the abolition of the propertied class and sole ownership of property and sole control by those who produce wealth. Communism is the goal.” And of course last but not least George Soros’s “Open Society Project”.

The radical political agenda which IPS espouses can be outlined as follows: “The steps to achieving the American Progressive -Socialist-Marxist civil society… change the popular consensus by destroying Christianity, the traditional family and social mores; instill radical left mind control, attain political power with a goal of implementing strict control of the military and law enforcement; restrict freedom by socializing the economy; erase American sovereignty by embracing a world without borders; attain political power by winning democratic elections; dominate both Houses of Congress; restrict freedom of the press and expression and of course enforce massive redistribution of wealth from the private to the public sector!” IPS is the progeny of the radical 1960’ Students for a Democratic Society (SDS) and low…Hussein’s favorite radical group the Weather Underground!
