Story Writing “Test” Write a good beginning for ONE of the following: 1. One dark rainy night I got locked out of my house. OR 2. One dark night I went in to explore a haunted house. OR 3. This is a story about meeting my really strange, long lost uncle who came to our house.

Create SUSPENSE for ONE of the following: (be sure to use the “Magic 3”) 1. Sara stopped short. A strange old women appeared before her on the forest path OR 2. I squinted toward the opposite end of the beach. There on the rocky shore sat a mermaid! OR 3. I whirled around to find myself face to face with a dancing scarecrow.

Describe ONE of the following main events in more detail: 1. I looked out my window at the beautiful winter landscape OR 2. The Snow Monster appeared on the icy path! OR 3. I gazed in amazement upon the magical sled.
