Have 48 videos up on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/netnebraska. Have received 56,000 views in the 13 months it has been up.

Youtube, yes. Pushing Wired science & grabbing video off of You Tube Don't do much locally on YouTube though put up Artworks clip that has received 12k views as well as Motor Weeks Huge Truck which got 10k views Youtube: Have an account, but nothing posted. Actually contacted YouTube to take off video that someone had posted. Some video on YouTube (TeacherLine) via RSS feed. Out Loud has its own You Tube channel. Will post songs that didn't make into show (MySpace too) & promos. Only program they use YouTube & MySpace for. Try to use to push back to their own Web site. Morning Stories on You Tube & other sites to see where they were the most traffic –(/wgby), You Tube seemed the most successful. -getting Just started YouTube though not promoted or linked to from WGBY site, rather just experimenting to see what the benefits might be. Found great success with putting a trailer up to promote their first local documentary; they received higher traffic than in the past. Local programs on Youtube YouTube experimentation: had "Halloween Haunts" on YouTube and iTunes to promote their Halloween special. Put some promos on You Tube not a lot. Half dozen pieces. Youtube: what they keep up with the most

Notes Put some video on You Tube YouTube video posted around Presidential Debate; received over 40,000 views. Have 2 debates coming up in a few weeks & will do same thing. Web Stories place on YouTube. Starting to create channels in those areas. Starting to upload promo videos to YouTube but hard time properly branding. Do have a presence on YouTube: 1 of their pieces on YouTube had 40k+ views and the data they are getting back with the success rate is encouraging them to do more. YouTube: yes, have segments of their local production “Open Line.” Production department handles this. Segments of a couple other productions have been postd as well (by producers directly)and they tag with KNPB. Also posted through Max Media.

Yes, they have a channel on Tube, YouTube channel where we post mostly the same videos Yes: YouTube – Gulf Coast WAR and Kentucky Coast are on YouTube. Station has experimented with YouTube: CEO Exchange, Chicago Tonight YouTube – has short clips up, but hasn't promoted…just experimenting at this time.

Have clips on YouTube – did radio interview (uploaded and embedded). Tried .mov and .flv files (hosting on station server) but not as ideal as streaming media server.

WCVE

6 months ago launched a "YouTube clone" by Clip Share called "e-klips." They are clips from programming and other sources that are tied in to SOLs. You can watch, embed in page, put in power point presentation, and is a resource for teachers. We know that students are familiar with the YouTube experience so we copied their model and have about 600 clips up ranging from local content to third party content. It's tied in to SOLs and searchable by key word/phrases. Huge response from Weskit (represents the school divisions they serve). Good response from Teachers. We want to now take to next level and get a CMS and rights management aspect to it.

Notes Web Stories place on Facebook and YouTube. Starting to create channels in those areas. Have a FaceBook group (past few months). Haven't promoted yet – 17-18 members. Experiment for now. General fan page. Not using as a vehicle to promote because don't have the Focuses onyet story collection around the resources. War. Doesn't feel it was successful at all as there has been very little activity or members joining. In hindsight, the audience for this project is not the audience on Facebook. Thinking about doing more with facebook, but want to take time to plan this time around. FaceBook!B24 Have a Facebook group for Your Stories War outreach project. we like Facebook based upon discussion had with stakeholders. Felt to be a closer fit to their audience. FB wasn't a huge success with the WAR project as much as they thought it would be. If we had to do over, we would do differently, plan ahead and be more aware of audience. - Trying to do more on Facebook for upcoming projects. Have been playing with Ning for their next project. Better as a one stop shop rather than so fragmented all over the place, so there is a lot of appeal with Ning. Blogs!A11KE Facebook recently as an organization page. Is restrictive because want you to have ads. Will look into again more.

Have half-hearted FaceBook & MySpace pages, but were mainly put up and forgotten about. Looks like a stale Web page and not very useful. For Uvu only. They use it to post/highlight videos on uVu. Doesn't see the value of page a station presence has fan (search WXXI)right withnow. 14 fans (without promotion). Seems like a great place to find future viewers/listeners. Will create on-air personalities in this space and have them get a page for fans. Thinking of buying ad space on FB. May do page around their radio. Also feed our station blogs on FB page. Has a Facebook account. Station uses Convio and they came out with a new application for Facebook. They found a NEW function on Facebook where you can link up to 15 pages from your website on to Facebook. Also has the NPR podcast application on their Facebook. Facebook: has page around the WAR as well as some local productions. KT mentioned they should look in to having people become a "fan" rather than a "member" of their facebook page(s) and that might drive more conversation/audience. Have blogs, but no comments aloud. Pat Duggins does "pats launch pad" and also has classical music previews and write ups about shows that are in town. They put their playlist in the blog and they get tons of hits on that. Blogs: lots have taken off in the past year. "Movie Review," "Culturalist," "Commentaries," "Working Motherhood." Most are in-house; one is outsourced. The outside blogger requires so much editing; takes a lot of comments monitoring.and Wants blogs. Also using blogging tools with are more looking in to aggregating all blogs: KQED.org/arts = all bloggers in the area in one spot./arts = curator model; /noisepop = bay area music festival where organizers curate monthly lineups of musicians and station comes up with "top picks" for the month. Has a blog on local productions that are monitored by the producers. KT suggested putting a blog feed on their homepage for more traffic. They can do this via word press blog so it is easy and will keep it fresh. You can drop videos or flickr slideshows in the blog as well using word press. Blogging: they are questioning this and experimenting with this right now as well as they believe it has the potential to be the most successful tool. KNME blog and Josh's blog (blogs about what he does for public media digest). Struggling with "how much is too much to tell the viewer?" They have a blog and are working on a new area of their site to highlight interactive features throughout their site. Blogs for many local productions and are working on a few new ones.

station does allow commenting, ability tos set up channel and create your own favorites,

Filmmunity – strugglingComments to keep updated. Scaled back when assistant left & not replaced. Intern just started that they're hoping to get trained and working on it. Traffic pretty steady. Gather.com – tried to use, but confusing & didn't have time

started New Media group – young people & geeks @ MPT. Had commentator, but state got nervous because they thought it was too political. Realized they have so many personalities at MPT. Want to counter perception of stodginess. Splashcast (?) was built for them; but it's too early to gauge success; 30-40 have signed up within the week. HD podcasting of their production "Jamestown 2007" which is a student and educational podcast. Use Picasa for radio station site photos. Participated in The War Story project using StorySHARE, which drew a lot of participation from local veterans: (http://www.wttw.com/share_story.html) Have Message Boards for most of their local productions and other areas of the site including: Check Please! Message Board http://www.wttw.com/main.taf?p=1,5 Chicago Tonight Message Board http://www.wttw.com/main.taf?p=28,'report - station role'!A1944 Art Online Message Board http://www.wttw.com/main.taf?p=26,6 Digital Message Board: http://www.wttw.com/main.taf?p=2,15 Wild Chicago Message Board (local production about the offbeat in Chicago Chicago): http://www.wttw.com/main.taf?p=25,7 Testing the waters with Everlasting Stream, premiering November 15th

Bandwidth: hard to pinpoint where the problem is…sometimes they run in to problems uploading files so they currently aren't allowing that by anyone. Haven't heard anything other than that. No real problems yet.

KOPB

Flickr: yes we have OPB account for band pictures on the site.

KHET

football QB, Colt Brennan and coach pics have gotten most hits. Editorial cartoons that he posts get some, but thinks its probably not the Flickr audience’s interest.

photos from crew in NH for primaries. Also using photos on site. Had a crew in Germany did same thing. Big fan. Using Flickr for DPTV photo-album – photos of events. Done by interactive fundraising person. Pushing Flickr – 2000 photos over football weekend. - 1/month local education event at local mall. Take photos & post on Flickr. See spike in traffic after those events. Expands search so when searching on Flickr, MPB will come up. Flickr – documentary last year on old churches – producer used Flickr to engage Flickr community and collected images of churches around the state. Flickr: uses a ton! It is on homepage and have a photo pool (find ppl on Flickr and ask them to add to their pool)

Flickr: using to post photos from events and especially the fire happenings in the area. Once fires hit, they started a Flickr group where the public could submit their own photos. Station pulled those photos and created a slideshow for their site. Loves Flickr and is very successful! On KQED.org they have a general photo pool. Uses it for Quest on-air integration as well as with their Cali Report (radio property) that has been very successful with a photo pool. Also has "What's On Your Grill" photo submission project going on as well as Bay Area Bites where they submit food photos. It is nice and searchable. - Suggests using Flickr to search for things going on in your community, then taking those users and reaching out to them around a centralized topic.

WNET http://video.thirteen.org/

Notes Streaming locally produced interviews & old episodes of local programming LOVES Flash b/c it's quicker, more agile, easy to present, file size, streams well. Most of their video is for Distance Learning. Phasing out Real, but all archives are in Real and there are no plans to re-encode. Experimenting with sending video to other outlets to be streamed on their online newspapers. Mostly promo clips, 8 mins in length.

Creating PBS version of YouTube experience Flash video on their site for their local productions that is in various places. "Charlottesville Inside Out" is a new program and they post full episodes (10-12 mins) on their site after broadcast. Have about 10 to start out with. Also pulls content from other places: stream from NPR and noticing Nature and NOVA using players similar to the ones we're using. currently is Flash, but keeping eye out for new Flash 9 player for MAC; think you'll be able to upload MPG4 through Flash player and watch there. Also the HD component is being developed in Flash and he's interested in the H.264 and how that will work.
