Stages in Systems Development Life Cycle -
a. System Planning Long & short term planning to prevent poor analysis & design of new system. Preliminary investigation – defines the problem to be solved & sets direction ( framework) for the new system.
b. System analysis detailed understanding of important features of the system under investigation. Develop analysis plan, gather information and analyzing them to identify user information needs and new systems requirements. c. Systems Design Is based on the results from systems analysis & put into design specifications. Divided into general systems design & detailed systems design. GSD - whether to develop or purchase software needed. DSD - @ physical systems design
