PHAN THI YEN CLASS: 16E5SP THE TRANSCRIPTION OF THE LAST RECORDING VERSION. ENTRY 2
One of things I can remember most clearly is my first day at school. It was one of the most significant turning points of my entire life. This happened when I was only seven years old but I can recollect all the happenings on that day. Being three or four years old, I had a fascination of going to school as I recall and when my mother finally announced that I’ll get admitted in the coming July, I felt like being in heaven. As I can remember, my mother took me to school after I bathed and dressed myself neatly to ready for my first day at school. I saw a number of new boys and girls waiting in the corridor. They were all like me in the school for the first time. After talking something to the teacher, my mother left the class. I felt such a helpless feeling! But, it did not take much time for me to be friendly with other students. After two periods, they began to tease me, I was much annoyed. During the break-time, all my classmates gathered around me. One pulled my shirt while another pulled my hair. I was frightened and began to burst into tears because of feeling a mix of emotions. My teacher saw me crying; she came to me and asked me why I was crying. As soon as I told her what happened, the teacher punished the boys, and from that time onwards they stopped bullying me. This incident greatly affected my later life. It re-appears in my mind whenever I got admitted in college, university and many other places but the memory of the first day at primary school was totally different. It was indeed a memorable day.
