Update on Points • After talking with Dr. McNutt (Dean of Arts and Sciences), the plan for volunteering and community service for points has been approved. • Anytime you volunteer for an hour or more, simply have the advisor/supervisor of the event sign off a note stating you were present and helped out the organization or

What we plan to do • Idea of Community Service Hours: One hour = 5 points of Honor Freshman need 200 pts to achieve full Excellence Sophomores need 150 pts to achieve full Excellence Juniors need 100 points to achieve full Excellence Seniors need 50 points to achieve full

Graduation Recognition • Achievement of Honor (0-150 pts) = Pin w/ SPHP Seal

• Achievement of Success (151-300) = Above + Honor Cords • Achievement of Prestige (301-500) = TBA

Volunteering On-Campus • Many of the places presented last meeting are still accepting positions to come and help out • If you want any more information in more details, come and talk to us after the meeting.

Meals on Wheels • Every Friday: Contact – Joe Van Volkenburg • 4/10 – 3 spots • 4/24 – 3 spots • 5/8 – 2 spots

Volunteering Off-Campus • Pharmacy opportunities at Wegmans, Walmart, and other locations. • Hospital Shadowing, Observing and Volunteering in BOTH the Buffalo and Rochester areas. • Ambulance and SPCA shadowing, and volunteering coming up as well.

NOMINATIONS • Think of someone you’d like to nominate for an officer role that would suit them best. Raise your hand and select who you’d like to nominate. ---Yes you can nominate yourself--• If the Nominee Accepts, they will be in the running for that E-Board Position.

Officers and Chairs • If you would like a copy of the Consistution, see me after. According to the Constitution the following positions are required to Chairs will be chosen next year, so keep this in mind. be filled… E-Board: President Vice-President Secretary Treasurer Event Manager

Upcoming Events • Dr. Andrew Cappacino will be coming to Speak, check your emails for a specific date and Time • We have a Relay for Life team, if you’d like to come see us at the end. The date for that event is April 17th18th.

• Pre- Medicine Retreat, April 5th 11:00am-5:00pm. Sign up in Campus Ministry. • Tuesday April 14th at 5:30pm VP of Student Affairs from SUNY State College of Optometry. Location TBA • Lorie Lee, a former Canisius college student and PA is coming to talk on Wednesday April 15th at 6:30pm. Location TBA

Future of SPHP • Next year SPHP will be under the advisement of the Officers chosen next meeting • Events will start as of Fall ’09 and continue on into the Spring Semester • Recruitment and involvement is key

Kaplan/Princeton Stuff • Working to get information on upcoming classes for MCATs, DATs, PCATs, VCATS, etc. • More importantly updating you on when FREE tests take places as well as DISCOUNTS from courses and tests.
