Why this concept? • Every third person in India is a child, but his rights are mostly ignored (although these are fundamental rights) • Students are given education in such a manner, that they find it difficult to understand and difficult to pass, thus they drop out • Most problems of our society are due to illiteracy, lack of education – whereever there is education, there is development www.afterschoool.tk

Why this concept? • Massive illiteracy, poverty and lack of education • Very high rate of drop out • Lack of good educational facilities in far off places like desert areas of Rajasthan etc.

Our concepts . . . • We combine vernacular language with stories, and materials from day to day use to explain them the concepts of education. • We shall develop educational pedagogy, which will not use exams, or other such structured methods. We shall try to use interesting tools like puppet shows, plays, role plays to convey our concepts. Our books will also be simple and interesting. www.afterschoool.tk

Resources. . • Local resources – artisans, folk dancers, and other people to convey the importance of discipline, hardwork, learning etc. • Study material will use audio visual aids, and other tools extensively. • We shall also train students in english, computers, and modern tools. www.afterschoool.tk

How will it actually work? • We shall take a mobile unit for educational purpose. ( we will never have a fixed building). • We shall survey the villages and find out when are the drop out children free. • First we shall organise film / magic shows in villages and slums and talk with the villagers about our concept www.afterschoool.tk

Short capsule programme. . . • We shall develop short capsule programmes – to make the children interested in education. (only 5 days). • We shall organise 3 month programmes in villages in community centres. This 3 month programme will enable the students to get basic knowledge and then appear in National Open school class 8th or 10th exams. www.afterschoool.tk

Marketing plan. . . • This is an innovative idea and will require extensive marketing among funding agencies, corporate business houses • The promotor will make extensive visit CSR Executives of the corporate houses and UNICEF and will also do extensive networking with government departments

Financial Plan. . . • Funding will be project based. We shall prepare projects and submit it to funding agencies, which will be funded by the funding agencies.
