Mission Statement The Snowbird Ski Team Alumni is a network of former Snowbird Ski Team Members, Coaches and Parents. We the SBSTA are united by a love for Skiing & Snowboarding. We are dedicated to giving back to an organization that gave so much to each of us. We exist to support and extend the Ideals, Goals and Promise of the SBSEF. We do this by donating our time our money and resources. We provide the SBSEF and its Athletes with funding, new opportunities, professional guidance and mentorship in all ways that we can. We believe that through nurturing and creating great people, comes great dreams, great accomplishments and also great times.

The 3 Pillars of the SBSTA

Stage # 1. Alumni Network

Stage # 2. Fund Raising

Stage # 3. Mentorships

The goal is to create an organization that functions simultaneously on three levels. Thus providing a fun and sustainable network of people who are interested in giving back to the SBSEF in a way that is appropriate for them. This will add a new dimension to the SBSEF program which helps bridge the gap between an athletes racing, skiing or snowboarding career to their next personal endeavor. We want success in the SBSEF program to equal and translate to success outside of the SBSEF program.

Stage 1. Alumni Network (for former SBSEF athletes and coaches) In order to build a lasting and transferable Alumni Organization we must first create a committed Alumni Network, that is based on integrity and timeless principals, this Network will serve multiple purposes. The Alumni Network’s deepest and greatest value are the individuals themselves. Individuals in the Alumni Network will have the choice to support the SBSEF through a combination of donating their, Time, Ideas, Extended Relationships, Resources and or Financial Contributions. (*Note: Honorary SBSTA members TBD by SBSTA) 1. For the Alumni specifically, the SBSTA will have the benefits of both Social Network and a Business Network. It will operate through the guidance of group elected officials and committee positions that are transferable to the next generation of Alumni. 2. Create a Diverse Professional Network for young adults to find Guidance, Mentors, and New Opportunities. As the next generation of Alumni begin their transition from racing towards what is next for them. This Alumni Network will be instrumental in opening doors for young people. 3. Creating added value for the SBSEF. When a parent is considering which program to put their child into and thinking about their future, knowing that their is a strong group of professionals that are SBSEF Alumni who want to help open career doors for their child and be there for advice on different career paths, this becomes a selling point for SBSEF.

Stage 2. Fund Raising (for the SBSEF) The SBSTA will co-ordinate efforts with the SBSEF in order to create Fund-raising Events that will contribute to both athletes individually and the Team as a whole. The SBSTA officials and committee will work to support SBSEF by utilizing the Alumni Network.

Stage 3. Mentorships (for the athletes) As athletes lives transition from ski racing the principles each athlete learns through the SBSEF program and also through the discipline of ski racing helps to build a young-adults with great potential. The Goal of the SBSTA is to provide potential with opportunity. Through having a designated list of Professionals (Alumni Volunteers) in every possible career path with an open-door policy to SBSEF athletes and their parents we hope to provide a bridge and some real world guidance to wherever they are going next.

SBSTA Questionnaire The info provided to the Snowbird Ski Team Alumni (SBSTA) is used only to help the function of the SBSTA. We ask that you provide only what you are comfortable providing. But, please fill out as much as possible as you are helping to shape and form what this group is and will become in the future. Your participation is the biggest value of the SBSTA. With the creation of the SBSTA we are also looking to build a social and business network. Hopefully, something fun and useful. It would be great if we can foster relationships with each other that can provide resource for all the different endeavors, projects, and business needs that may be in the future.
