Methods of skeletal imaging o Plain film x-ray o Myelography – injection of contrast into CSF o Arthrography – injection of contrast into synovial joints o Discography – form of arthrography where contrast is injected directly into intervertebral disc; this is diagnostic and therapeutic o Bone scans – determines excess or irregular bone activity; most common radioisotope used is technetium-99diphosphonate o Computerized tomography o Magnetic resonance imaging
