A man ruins due to his greed & lust The entire JAIN Community has a blemish due to Satish Kantilala Mehta as he led his own brother & mother to the court because of greed & lust. Greed, lust & temptation are the elements due to which a human being ruins ethically. Whenever these unethical values are rooted in members of any family, the matter becomes a grievous one. Same sort of a case happened in rich & cultured considered JAIN community of Mumbai and due to this only the entire JAIN community feel ashamed & embarrassed. Satish Mehta filed a legal case, which was actually a baseless & fake, against his mother-Saryuben & the brother cum business partner Jayesh Mehta. Jayesh Mehta was the founder & partner of the Mumbai based reputed & leading company in dermatology namely Universal Impex, producing creams, ointments lotions, gel related products in the pharmaceutical sector. But the justice of god leaves no culprit unpunished. Any crime or unjust committed by any person will be paid for, by the same person only in his life itself. Here is the case of Mehta family that supports this universal truth. For years Jayesh Mehta & Satish Mehta both brothers carried out business with equal participation & cooperation. Due to some family dispute both separated in 1996. Then after as a part of internal agreement & settlement, Satish Mehta took over the ongoing business and Jayesh Mehta initiated completely new & separate division of ointment. The transactions, banking & operations were also separated as a part of the settlement agreement for both of the divisions. In furtherance to this, Satishbhai took away export operations from Universal Impex to Om Export, where Umeshbhai Vora also was looking after. There is no sector available without competition so as pharmaceutical sector too is not excluded from. Healthy competition is always accepted but when it is initiated with intentions of illegal acquisition, greed or unjust, ruins a person. Satish Mehta (owner of Universal Twinlab) joined hands with Umeshbhai Vora (from Cambay Medical) who was the main distributor of Universal Impex’s ointment products for last 10 years. On the other side as time lapsed, due to conscience & hard work of Jayesh Mehta, the ointment division of Universal Impex was developing with leaps & bounds. Due to this only Universal Impex was being established & remembered in the market as a specialized company with a core focus on ointment. The overall sales, market expansion & reach of ointment & cream products increased tremendously. This led the company to establish itself as a unique & renowned brand with a generic dominance in the pharmaceutical sector. Witnessing such a growth of Universal Impex, Satishbhai & Umeshbhai envied Universal Impex & collectively planned out to lodge a case against honourable mother Saryuben & brother Jayeshbhai. Both of them together planned out a conspiracy to demolish Jayesh Mehta’s company in financial aspects. In February 2007, Satishbhai in presence of the community leaders who actually contributed to settle the dispute, vowed for almighty Padmawati & asked to share Umeshabhai Vohra as an equal partner in the ointment division with 50% stake, which was fully owned by Jayeshbhai. Along with this Satish Mehta pretended to be a pure hearted guy. The whole matter Jayesh Mehta rejected as he felt this to
be an unjust. Simultaneously Satish Mehta acquired the drug license for Universal Twinlab’s eye & ear drops with No.K.D.1932/A Shreechem Lab (P) Ltd. and got ointment license for Universal Twinlab with help of the loaned license of the Nagpur based company. He got the manufacturing license under Universal Twinlab’s name with No. ND/69/A and ND/75/A dated 19/4/2006. Satishbhai had ongoing partnership in joint family, yet he started the same kind of ointment business in secret manner, same as of which was carried on by Jayeshbhai in Universal Impex, & thus Satishbai started some fishy activities due to envy. Jayeshbhai knew about the above stated activity in September-October 2006 & to find justice, he approached the courts legally. Jayeshbhai charged Satishbhai with… 1. Breach of confidence with the company 2. Carrying out activity of manufacturing identical products 3. Financial mismanagement of millions of rupees Jayeshbhai owned the business of ointment in Universal Impex independently after 1996. Satishbhai Mehta surrendered the drug license of Universal Impex to the Drug Official’s custody with an intention to put Universal Impex to wind up. He pretended to give back the office owned land on paper and carried on using this office for his Om Exports’ business operations. In addition to this, Satish Mehta dissolved the company and illegally did fraud of the due payment of ointment division, which was to be realized from Cambay Medical (owned by Umesh Vohra) accounting to Rs. 52 Lakh. Satishbhai did big frauds & mismanagement by forging and tampering financial documents, transaction records as the evidences evoke. Satishbhai deliberately created the situation in which finished goods, unfinished goods, raw materials, packaging materials amounting to millions of rupees was to be destroyed and the great loss would be incurred by Jayeshbhai. Even in furtherance, he hired the Advocate General of Maharashtra state and led his brother Jayesh Mehta & critically ill mother to court. Satishbhai did all this on somebody else’s guidelines & advice. Satishbhai accused his own mother and thus put the entire JAIN community in great embarrassment. Such a person must be boycotted from JAIN community as the prevailing opinions in the community have come up. The only responsible person to put renowned Universal Impex (Pharmaceutical Company) to premature death is Satishbhai Mehta, considered as a blemish of JAIN community.
Satishbhai who projected himself as a religious & pious person by doing daily prayer, feeding cattle, birds etc. and the same person accused his own mother & brother with completely fraud & conspiracy based case and with fake documents & evidences. Satishbhai did all good for his own company Universal Twinlab & put his brother’s company Universal Impex to get unfeasible business orders. Even after this, Satishbhai did the process of contempt of court but this time Jayeshbhai’s faith in god, mother’s support and Dada Ghantakarna’s blessings favored Jayeshbhai and in turn Satishbhai’s plot completely failed as the entire
case was dismissed by a lady judge. Being innocent & well blessed Jayeshbhai and his mother’s trust in god reinforced a lot.

Being an elder brother, Jayeshbhai always mentored & supported Satishbhai by giving his valuable advice in order to make him achieve the best success. Satishbhai had tremendous faith in Almighty Padmawati. To let Satishbhai’s dream come true, Jayeshbhai did religious ceremony in jain derasar of Almighty Padmawati with the name of Satishbai at IDAR. For any personal or commercial causes, Jayeshbhai never compromised and gave any amount of money to always help his brother. In the mean time Ranbaxy accused Satish Mehta and against Satish Mehta the same Advocate General pleaded on behalf on Ranbaxy, the advocate who was earlier hired by Satish Mehta in order to accuse his brother Jayeshbhai & his own mother. In the case against Ranbaxy, Satishbhai & Umesh Vohra defeated from their company’s side. Satishbhai started his manufacturing unit at the province BADI, in Himachal Pradesh with an intention to get 16% of exemption in excise duty. But on 1st of March 2008, the Govt. of India decreased the excise exception from 16% to 8%, which has now been decreased further to 4% only.

With help of Jayeshbhai’s independent Universal Impex & joint venture of its ointment division, which was a company manufacturing ointments only. Ltd.’s inauguration was done by Satishbhai Mehta & Umeshbhai Vohra’s father. Umeshbhai Vohra owned renowned company in marketing, with name of Cambay Medical. But in the court, witnesses & declarations mismatched. In the case of Universal Impex, as per the witness of Satishbhai he urged that the products of company being a joint property, one partner only cannot use it. The court also gave its verdict based on this statement. When Ranbaxy accused Universal Twinlab in court, from Universal Twinlab number of declarations and statements were given that in March-April 2006, for the products they got the permission were copied from Universal Impex’s products. This sort of mismatch of declarations & witnesses has been made in the same court of Mumbai. If in case, this draws attention of Mumbai High Court, Satishbhai could be put in a serious
trouble for giving fake witness & declarations. Apart from this in COPP of the government also the departmental probe is going on in Food & Drug Department. Satishbhai on his own without any consent of Jayeshbhai dissolved Universal Impex (Partnership Firm) and did not make dissolution deed and made more than 3 crores approx. of transactions in the syndicate dissolve firm. When Jayeshbhai knew about it, he put the bank account to freeze. As any of the partnership firms needs a partnership deed to be made legally, the same way dissolution deed (registered) have to be worked out as well. Jayeshbhai Mehta time & again gave the legal notice via advocate to work out partnership firm dissolve deed, yet till date it has never been worked out. On the other hand Jayesh Mehta separated from his loved mother and relocated to Ahmedabad and founded his own Pharmaceutical Company namely Universal Pharma.
Satishbhai at all in any circumstances is not capable of answering on these questions. To understand mental state of a person like Satishbhai the only thing needed is that… * If he had a partnership in universal Impex, why did he dissolve the company and incurred a loss of crores? * When his company’s ointment division was actually leading & successful in the sector, why any partner shall dissolve the company and intentionally incur a loss of millions? * Why did he come up with Universal name again and launched identical products in the market?
This column does not intend to criticize some individual but these sorts of incidents take place in our society very often. As per the JAIN ideology, for repentation & improvement there is no bar of time or any other element. Still it is not very late, may the almighty bless Satishbhai with good sense & knowledge and may Satishbhai leave this negativism and beg for forgiveness from his elderly members of family.
