Lesson What’s All the Buzz About?
Differentiation Gifted Child – instead of using the different mediums like pencils, markers, and crayons; these students can create their artwork with newspaper and magazine clippings and glue. They will also be instructed to write 2 sentences instead of 1. Visually Impaired Child – allow this child to have their own copy of the book, sit them close to the front of the room, give them their own, smaller copy of the Buzz Words to have at their desk, and provide their artwork instructions in a bigger font size. English Language Learners – find the appropriate equivalent to the Buzz Words in their native language, allow them to copy and learn them in both languages. What is a Bee?
Gifted Child – these will probably finish their work before others; allow them to assist other students in completing the numerous activities. The activity should also be changed for these students by instructing them to draw the life cycle of the cards themselves and giving them a blank anatomy diagram in which they have to fill out on their own before investigating the Bees’ bodies. Life in the Hive

Gifted Child – instead of working in a group these children can work independently. These children can also use their textbooks to
research more about Bees and write more than four facts. Gifted Child – these students can act as helpers to other students if they get done with their beehives earlier. In order to make the beehive a challenge, the students can make their own cardboard tubes out of construction paper and tape. This will add a hands-on challenge to the project. Gifted Child – these students can try to use other materials to create an activity for their classmates to do a nectar obtaining activity just like the pollinating activity.
