The Batak is very dynamic and self confident people. Over the centuries they have been able to guard their homeland against intrusion by foreigners and it is only in the last 100 years that their way of life and culture has undergone a great change under the impact of Christian, Islam and colonialism, this development did not follow a uniform pattern. In different region and different periods the Batak had very experience of heir neighbours and foreing intrusion. All Batak people play a very important role for the Batak Toba. It is of extra importance, the rules are still in use and set its every special flavor on the daily life of Batak people. People can not marry within their clan in the old days. Those who offend against the rule they were sentenced to death. When they come from the same class, they treated the clans as special relationships. A hula-hula relation is he relationship of a man to the clan of his wife and considered as an older brother and should be respected. The Boru relationship is the relation of man as the clan that marries his sisters’ clan and should be rspected. Dongan tubu relation is relation among the members of the same clans. When
