REQUIREMENTS OF THE IMMERSION SUBJECT The following are requirements determined by the work immersion teachers as basis for completing the immersion subject. Students must be aware that there are other requirements aside from the immersion itself, as follows: A. Pre-immersion Orientation Attendance All students who will undergo immersion must be able to participate the preimmersion orientation in order to be guided on the requirements, process, rules and regulations of the work immersion program. B. In-school interview This is a one-on one talk with the work immersion teacher and the student. This is done to assess the personality of the student and find the establishment where he is best fitted. This will also serve as an opportunity for the student to practice for future interview by the partner institution. C. Memorandum of Agreement (MOA and Endorsement Letter) The Memorandum of Agreement specifically outlines the role and responsibilities of all concerned parties, training plan, learning objectives and method of evaluation between the school and the partner institution/company/office. One MOA is given by the school per establishment only. It is the responsibility of the student to notarize the MOA and give it back to the school. Endorsement letter is given by the work immersion teacher to the partner institution through the student confirming that s/he is officially deployed to the partner institution. D. Daily and Weekly Report of Activities Students are required to record their daily and weekly immersion experiences and observations in the immersion manual. The report contains the specific tasks performed discussions of new skills learned, projects initiated or completed, difficulties or problems encountered, etc. The report will help ensure that the school/HEI and the partner institution/ company/office are updated on the on-the-job experience of the student/trainee and assess whether it is congruent with the agreed upon training plan and learning objectives. E. Performance Evaluation Report In order to determine the overall performance of the student during the immersion, evaluation report is accomplished. This is given by the students to the manager/supervisor in the department where he is assigned. After evaluation, the student will forward this to the work immersion teacher. Since the evaluation report is a confidential document, it must be sealed with the evaluators signature. F. Certificate of Completion The certificate of completion serves as proof that the required number of hours for immersion has been completed in accordance with the terms, conditions and specifications set by the establishment. This is issued by the partner institution to the student upon completion 1

of the immersion. The student may keep the original copy after he has presented it to the work immersion teacher. A photocopy should be submitted to the work immersion teacher. G. Portfolio Upon completion of the practicum period, students are required to submit their Immersion Portfolio. The Immersion Portfolio must be well organized (i.e., Table of Contents, Tabs included, information must be typed in a short bond paper, and otherwise professionally presented). The front cover and title page must include: name of student, name of immersion site, subject information (e.g. OJT IMMERSION) and the semester/year. Portfolios must include all the following information, including samples of work completed during the immersion experience: I. Introduction 1. Cover Page / Title Page 2. Table of Contents 3. Immersion Site Profile (Company Name, Location, Contact Details, etc.) 4. Company Overview 1. Give the name of the company and describe the immersion site including the history, mission statement, type of organization (e.g., corporation, private, government agency, non-profit, etc.), customers, services offered, as well as other special features. 2.
