Brothers and Sisters in Christ, Pope Benedict tells us, “ the Gospel of life which we proclaim, speaks to believers and non believers because it fulfills our hearts desires.” As we prepare for the month of the rosary, let us pray for strength to uphold and defend the truths of our faith and the requirements of the law to all who deny them. Let us ask our Lady to bless our nation and the weakest among us. Next weekend , the Bishop has asked all pastors to speak on respect life Sunday. Have a good week and thank you for all you, our parishioners , do to keep Christ the King parish alive and well. Happy 50th anniversary! Please mark the date for the Living Rosary. Fr. Jarosz

STAND UP FOR LIFE NATIONAL LIFE CHAIN On Sunday, October 4th, Respect Life Sunday, thousands of people of all faiths will be standing in silent witness of their reverence for life. Won’t you take an hour of your time to pray for the sin of abortion with your fellow Americans in a national LIFE CHAIN? This peaceful, prayerful demonstration sends a powerful message to passersby. It also coincides with the ongoing 40 Days for Life. In the western suburbs the chain will extend along Ogden Avenue, and especially near the four DuPage County abortion clinics, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Pick up signs in advance from Illinois Citizens for Life, 630/852-5448, or on the day of the LIFE CHAIN at the Southwest corner of York and Ogden in Hinsdale (near ACU), near the Access clinic in Downers Grove on 75th street between Lemont Road and Woodward St, in Wood Dale near 203 E. Irving Park Road (Advantage), and at Aanchor, 1186 Roosevelt Road in Glen Ellyn. In Naperville the chain will form at Ogden and Washington and in Lisle at Ogden and Main. Several churches also sponsor chains. Call your own church to find out more details or call ICL at 630-852-5448, or go to www.LifeChain.net and click on Illinois and scroll through the locations. Come and be a witness for life. It is such a simple thing to do you can bring the whole family. If you feel you cannot stand for one hour, feel free to bring along a lawn chair. Thank you.

40 Days for Life Starts Next Week
Our Mission is to encourage physical well-being with others who desire a healthy lifestyle.
A great pro-life event begins in over 200 cities across the country: the 40 Days for Life prayer campaign.
We will meet at 4:30pm THE LAST SUNDAY OF THE MONTH.
From September 23rd through November 1st, 40 Days for Life prayer vigils will be held outside abortion clinics in 212 cities in 45 American states and five Canadian provinces. At each of our Du Page county abortion clinics parishioners from all over the diocese will be present in prayer.
We will run/walk the area for approximately 30-45 minutes and return for light refreshments. Directions and distances will be available at each event. WE WELCOME ALL AGES AND FITNESS LEVELS For more information, call Dr. Frank Frydrch or Julie Kearney at 630.629.1717 ext. 6117.
Diocesan Survey The Comprehensive Survey for Parishioners is now available. To complete the survey they need to go onto the Diocesan web site and click on the Lighting the Path to the Future logo. The results of our comprehensive survey will only be as good as the input we get.
Beloved: See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. … Beloved, we are God’s children now; what we shall be has not yet been revealed. We do know that when it is revealed we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. - 1 John 3:1-2
This will be the fifth ever 40 Days for Life campaign, and the results of the first four have been amazing: MORE THAN 70,000 PEOPLE of all ages have come out to abortion clinics to pray At least 1,561 BABIES HAVE BEEN SAVED from abortion -- and those are just the ones we know about 18 abortion workers have QUIT THEIR JOBS and walked away from the abortion industry Three abortion facilities COMPLETELY SHUT DOWN following local 40 Days for Life campaigns And this fall's 40 Days will be the biggest one yet -- more babies will be saved, more parents will be spared a lifetime of regrets, and more abortion workers will have their hearts touched and leave their jobs. Please join us for some prayer times please join the coordinator for our parish Madeline Cannatta and I for more details. Call Madeline at 630 629.1717 x0 Fr Jarosz

Mary, Mother of Compassion, You showed us how valuable a single life can be; help us to guard and protect the lives of all people entrusted to our care. R. Mary, Mother of the Child Jesus, with St. Joseph you formed the Holy Family; guard and protect all families in this earthly life; R. Mary, Mother Most Holy, You sanctified the vocation of motherhood; pour out your heavenly aid on all mothers and help them to be holy. R.

Mary, Mother of Sorrows, Simeon’s prophecy foretold that a sword of suffering would pierce your heart; bring comfort and hope to all mothers who suffer over their children. R. Mary, Full of Grace, You had a choice in responding to God’s call; help us always to say “Yes” to the will of God in our lives, and strive always to do whatever he tells us. R. Mary, Comforter of the Afflicted, Pour forth your heavenly grace on all who are in need of God’s healing, Especially those involved in abortion; help them to experience the love and mercy of Christ, your Son. Mary, Intercessor and Advocate, We lift up the poor, the displaced, the marginalized and vulnerable members of society; help them to never abandon hope, but to place their trust in the God who gave them life. R. Mary, Mother of the Word Incarnate, you bore in your womb him whom the heavens cannot contain; help us to bear witness to Christ by the example of our lives And show the world the extravagant love of God. R. All: Remember, o most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession was left unaided. Inspired with this confidence, we fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, our Mother. To you we come, before you we stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not our petitions, but in your mercy hear and answer them. Amen.

Finance Council September Meeting Minutes The Finance Council met on the evening of September 16th. Elaine Ward, Lori Bhardwaj, Rick Cosenza, and Brian Carnahan were in attendance. Minutes from the previous meeting were unanimously approved. A full financial report on Fiscal Year 2009 will be available for the parish sometime in November. Through the first nine weeks of FY 2010, white and green envelope donations are $17,398 behind budget. The Early Learning Academy has 32 full-time equivalent students enrolled. School has begun and everything is going well! We spent quite a bit of time discussing the steps and scheduling of the upcoming Annual Stewardship Appeal. The next two Finance meetings are scheduled for October 7th and November 11th. If you are interested in attending, please call Fr. Peter at 630.396.6079.
2009-10 Catholic Ministries Annual Appeal Diocese of Joliet The Catholic Ministries Appeal supports God’s work all over this diocese. The parish does not always have the resources to help parishioners, so the diocese supplements us with ways we can help people help themselves. We would like 100% participation. We are still far from the goal. Let’s try to do our best! Fr. Jarosz
