I WILL SURVIVE (MILITARY SPOUSE VERSION)

Rewritten by: Donna Cartwright Original song: I will survive By: Gloria Gaynor

At first I was afraid I was petrified Kept thinking I could never live without you by my side But I spent so many nights thinking how I COULD GET ALONG and I grew strong and I learned how to carry on and I GOT YOUR BACK WHILE YOU’RE AWAY I’LL BE FINE WHILE YOU’RE THERE DON’T HAVE that sad look upon your face I should NOT have argued at the dock I should have made you kiss me If I had known for just one second it’s a ‘normal cycle’ for me

Go on now go I LOVE YOU DEAR DON’T TURN AROUND now 'cause I CAN DO THIS AND more weren't you the one who tried to HELP ME TO GET BY you KNEW I WOULDN’T crumble you KNEW I WOULDN’T lay down and die Oh no, not I I will survive as long as I HAVE YOU to love I know I’ll stay alive I've got many who SUPPORT ME and I've got many kids to feed and I'll survive I will survive HEY HEY

It took all the strength I had not to fall apart kept trying hard to mend the pieces of my broken heart and I spent oh so many nights just feeling sorry for myself I used to cry but now I hold my head up high and you see me somebody new I'm NOW A STRONGER PERSON STILL IN LOVE WITH YOU And NOW WE’RE HOME FROM HOMECOMIN’ AND I’M GLAD YOU DID YOUR DUTY I’VE BEEN savin’ all my lovin’ for TODAY I’M HAPPY!

Go on now go I LOVE YOU DEAR DON’T TURN AROUND now 'cause I CAN DO THIS AND more weren't you the one who tried to HELP ME TO GET BY you KNEW I WOULDN’T crumble you KNEW I WOULDN’T GO down and die Oh no, not I I will survive as long as I HAVE YOU to love I know I’ll stay alive I've got many who SUPPORT ME and I've got many kids to feed and I'll survive I will survive HEY HEY

YOU WILL SURVIVE!
