Wang 1! Cindy Wang Mrs. Perez Block-H World Religion 2/28/19 Senior Service Learning Project Reflection For the last three years, I joined Passion Church and as a member in this organization, we experienced a lot. I am really touched by the love transmitted by this group. From the work with the old age home in Cerritos, we had activities for them such as singing, dancing, and chatting. I am so happy to help people and I like to see the smiles on their faces. Also, people in the organization really work hard and our hard work has made those children with disabilities and poor students feel warm and happy, and also give me and other people in the society a positive energy. There is an experience which left in me a deep impression. During a long weekend, I joined a volunteer group at Irvine and we went to the border between Mexico and the United States. The city is called Tijuana, the environment there is not good as United States and a lot of dilapidated houses and dust in the air but still a lot of people came to help. We visited an orphanage which is like a kindergarten. There are not more than six children and when we arrived they were all so happy to see us which was like we are good friends for a long time and happy to see each other again. The owner of the orphanage are a couple of Koreans, they cannot speak English and luckily we have a friend who can speak Spanish very well. The couple told us most of the children lost their parents because of sickness and some children were abandoned at birth. The children cannot speak English and my job was teaching them some simple English

At one moment, I felt I am so lucky and very thankful my parents gave me such a good environment to grow up in. To be honest, I hardly ever see the difference between them and the normal children. After this trip, my body is tired but my spirit is full of satisfaction. I learned that we have the responsibilities to help people in the society. I also learned to be grateful for the blessings in my life. In the future, I also believe more and more people are willing to contribute their work to those people who need help.
