Note: Though Jesus Christ is God, In the New Testament Jesus Christ is referred to as Lord (ku,rioj), and God the Father is either referred to as patro.j or qeo,j, which is another reason why the previous verse with it’s usage of qeo,j must have primary reference to the Father in distinction from the Son and the Spirit. There is a clear distinction in the New Testament between Christ and God. (cf. Romans 1:4 1 Cor 8:6, 2 Cor. 4:4) {Romans 1:4 who was declared the Son of God (ui`ou/ qeou/) with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness (pneu:ma aÓgiwsuvnhß), Jesus Christ our Lord (kuri,ou)} 2 Corinthians 13:14 The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ (tou/ kuri,ou VIhsou/ Cristou), and the love of God (tou/ qeou), and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit (a`gi,ou pneu,matoj), be with you all.
