School Bags For Needy Pupils

Friday January 2, 2009 Schoolbags for needy pupils SMILES of delight were etched on the faces of 30 children from Bagan Dalam, Butterworth, after they received new schoolbags from area assemblyman A. Tanasekharan. The recipients were primary school pupils from the lower income group. “We are only giving away schoolbags. Those who can’t afford to buy uniforms and shoes can contact my service centre for assistance,” he said after presenting the bags recently. Bagan Dalam Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) chairman A. Vasan, who was present, said the schoolbags were a timely contribution for families struggling to make ends meet during the current economic situation.
