Characters: Gatsby: Wealthy, living in the past, gregarious Nick: Narrator, practical Daisy: Shallow, stupid Aristotelian Appeals Pathos: The readers can see how much Gatsby loves Daisy, especially when he takes the blame for the car accident that killed Myrtle. Logos: The harsh conditions and life threatening situation the soldiers are in make them want to go home and forget about the whole war. However they cannot. Plot Summary Since the WWI began, Paul and his friends get enlisted in the military and endure the painful experiences of the war. They realize that the war is not all about nationalism and they are afraid of dying. His friends start dying one by one, and at the end he also dies but has a calm expression.
