Scaling-up Conservation: A Model for Success In 2009, the Pennsylvania BMP Challenge for Reduced Nitrogen helped farmers remove over 25,000 lbs of nitrogen from the bay. We are working to scale-up this conservation program to make it available to more farmers in more states in order to significantly improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay.
