Why do you study at Faculty of Science, Mahidol University? Please introduce yourself...
It is known that Mahidol is famous in terms of doing research, and facility for study. Of course, I made the right choice.
I’m Banyar Aung from Myanmar. I’m doing Master degree (international program) in the Dept of Plant Science, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University.
Which location in Faculty of Science do you like the most?
In brief, tell us about your research...
If you recieve a Nobel prize, who will be the first person you would share this good news with?
I’m working on the diversity of endogenous banana streak virus in Thai bananas. Bananas in Thailand contain different sequences of endogenous virus, and some are closely related to virus sequences in bananas from different countries.
I am so attracted to the library and laboratory.
Still so far! But if I were a Nobel laureate, I would share this information to young researchers, and students to motivate them for research.
Why do you love research?
Which plant can best represent your personality? Why?
In your opinion, a good scientist is...
Who would you love to meet, in person, the most (not a scientist please?)
I am so pleasant when I discover new things. I am exposed to a lot of information after research. It keeps my life updated. A good scientist should be able to collaborate with other reserachers and share his findings to other people.
GradExpo 2009
I love Rice and Bananas plants. They are not only important for live, but also the model plants for research. I wish I could have a chance to meet a person who is most reponsible for a country, and share knowledge.
