CALL FOR PAPERS

TURNING POINTS? Tenth Annual Conference University of Dundee 6 March 2009 The tenth annual conference of the Scottish Association for the Study of America will meet at the University of Dundee on March 6, 2009. In the wake of the presidential election this year’s conference will have a very broad general theme of ‘Turning Points?’ While we particularly welcome papers that deal with this general theme in history, literature, or politics, and especially papers that are inter-disciplinary in their approach, panels and papers which deal with any theme in American Studies broadly defined are welcome. We especially encourage papers from postgraduate students. Paper givers should expect to deliver a paper lasting no more than twenty minutes. Please submit proposals for papers or panels to Dr Matthew Ward, School of Humanities, University of Dundee, DD1 4HN, Scotland. e-mail [email protected] (proposals by e-mail are preferred.) The deadline for proposals is January 7, 2009 and we will issue a draft programme and registration form immediately following. Paper proposals should be about 250 words in length , accompanied by a brief CV. We particularly welcome proposals for complete panels. If you have any questions please contact Dr. Ward at the above contact address or by telephone 01382 384181.
