Description Yellowish / pale reddish Hard & heavy but splits easily Has strong fragrant odour & slightly bitter taste T.S Shows alternating lighter & darker zones Medullary rays are very fine & close Vessels are mostly solitary ,occasionally arranged in groups
Constituents Volatile oil in all the elements of wood ∞ & β santalol
