Quiz will contain 15 questions to assess the participants’ pre-training electrical safety awareness level Electrical fire & accident statistics; causes; Focus areas Definition of electricity; current, voltage, resistance, AC, DC; effects of shock; neutral; Flash Accidents; Various shock conditions; MCB, Fuses, ACB, VCB, RCCB (applications of 30, 100, 300 milli ampere sensitivity devices); Relays; Personal Protection Equipments (helmets, rubber gloves, arc flash suits); isolation transformer; Centre- Tapped Earth Supply; Extra-Low voltage 24V supply, etc. HAC concepts; Selection of various special equipment as per IS 5571 & 5572; Special design features of flameproof, increased safety, intrinsically safe equipment An informative video film that explains the concepts of Hazardous Area Classification, Special features of electrical equipment in flammable atmospheres Electrical fires, Causes, Portable Fire Extinguishers, Use of Linear Heat Sensing cables, Smoke detectors, Nitrogen blanketing system & Mulsifier systems for transformer fire protection, Fire Trace systems, etc. Why earthing, high earth resistance values & adverse consequences, earth pits (pipe & plate), fault current dissipation, requirement of single & double earthing depending on voltage classes, earth pit resistance measurement & periodicity, identification of earth pits, etc.

Fundamentals of static electricity, hazards of Electro-Static Discharge (ESD) in flammable atmospheres, Minimum ignition energy required, Explosions due to ESD, control measures, Doping, Switch Loading, Bonding & earthing, etc. Indian Electricity Rules, Applicable Indian & international standards related to Electrical safety Lightning –Atmospheric physics, Kite experiment, various lightning damages, popular myths, lightning protection concepts for property LP, personal LP, Surge Protection Devices Explains the various electrical hazards & control measures. An effective film that will make participants appreciate the need to follow electrical safety measures at work places. Permit To Work (PTW); Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); Various Power isolation Procedures, LOTO; Various IS 5216 practices & procedures, various common flaws, etc.
