Fire Safety • Exits in stores and offices should be clearly marked and all signs lit and unobstructed. • Actions on Fire Safety: – If you hear fire alarm or are told to evacuate by appropriate personnel, evacuate the premises & assemble at assembly point outside the building. – If in a store, help your PCs and Merchandisers evacuate first. – Remain Calm – Look for EXIT signs and follow them – Do not run to exits, but walk to exits – Guide people to safe exits – Do not use lifts

Fire Safety - Fire Extinguishers Remember this easy acronym when using an extinguisher - P.A.S.S. • Pull the pin. • Aim the nozzle. • Squeeze the handle. • Sweep side to side at the base of the fire. •

NOTE: If, when using a fire extinguisher, the fire is physically larger than you can safely handle, evacuate the area and notify others.

Fire Safety - Remember! • All shall be instructed in emergency evacuation plans (while at Hindustan Unilever offices). • Smoking is prohibited in all state buildings and vehicles. • Staff may smoke only outside the buildings in designated areas. • The use of portable heating devices is prohibited in areas within HUFS-Induction Depot facilities.

Road Safety Everyone needs to live by 10 basic Behaviors: 2. Don’t drink and drive 3. Wear your crash helmet / car seat-belt 4. Don’t speed. Be aware of your surroundings 5. Engine on – No Mobile 6. Don’t distract yourself whilst driving 7. When you are on the road, take a break every two hours 8. Follow Unilever’s Safe Travel Standard and Local laws 9. Get trained in defensive driving 10.On Unilever inter-city business travel, use public transport or vehicles only from approved suppliers 11.Be a change agent on road safety – lead by example HUFS-Induction

To Wear or Not to Wear?! HUFS-Induction

Mobile Safety As a driver: • Never take a phone call while driving alone • Never make a phone call while driving • Phone must be on switch-off mode • Phone should only be used while the vehicle is legally parked in a safer location

Speeding • Adhere to specified speed limits when traveling within a city. • On highways vehicles must not exceed 80 kms/hr for cars and multi-utility vehicles. However these should be reduced if adverse driving conditions are encountered.

Driving Distraction Standards • While driving drivers are not permitted to make or take any telephone calls (including hands free cell phones / car phones, if any) or attempt to use any other electronic business tools e.g. HHTs, Laptops, etc • Such equipment must only be used while the vehicle is legally parked in a safe location. • A break of 10 minutes after every 2 hours of continuous travel should be observed when in a private mode of transport. • Ensure adequate rest for the driver before embarking on long journeys. Driving Distraction Standards Avoid distractions when driving such as: • Loud music (this can stop you hearing other warning sounds) • Map reading • Fiddling with an car stereo or other system. • Arguing with your passengers or other road users • Eating, drink and smoking. • Talking on Mobile Phone • Reaching for something in side pocket, whilst driving HUFS-Induction

Tiredness • Intercity City Journeys should be done between 5:30 a.m or sunrise and 7p.m. or sunset only. Night Travel restriction does not include travel by public transport. • A break of 10 minutes after every 2 hours of continuous travel should be observed when in a private mode of transport. • Ensure adequate rest for the driver before embarking on long journeys. Pedestrian Safety Minor Violation Rule • Not walking on the designated pedestrian pathway inside the factory or in the office premises • No condoning of such violation

Train Safety 1. Do not attempt to embark or disembark, while the train is in motion. 2. During office hours trains are overcrowded, so be prepared to get in or get out. 3. Do not hang out or do not climb on the roof. 4. Stay well prepared prior to two station of your destination station. 5. Be careful of the luggage kept overhead. HUFS-Induction

Train Safety 1. Take care of your own belongings 2. Please do not touch any unclaimed object. 3. Do not smoke inside the compartment. 4. Plan your journey. leave your residence with adequate time in hand. 5. Do not jump from one platform to other. Use the Foot Over Bridge. HUFS-Induction

Bus Safety • Leave in time to reach the bus stop at least 5 minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. • Walk Safely. Walk! Don't run.  • Wait in a safe place.  Stay at least 6 feet away from the edge of the roadway. • Don't rush to catch a bus. • Don't enter/exit from a moving bus. HUFS-Induction

Bus Safety • Don’t stand near entrance/exit of bus. • Avoid wearing expensive jewellery while traveling. Hide your money / valuables and keep an eye out for miscreants. • Don't alight from bus at red lights or corners. • After alighting from the bus “STOP”. Do not cross the bus from the front. HUFS-Induction

Environmental Safety • Care to be taken while disposing off damaged stocks so that it does not affect the environment. • Not to litter the surroundings with used cartons/wrappers and packaging material. • Good housekeeping norms to be followed strictly
